The phrase came into being one fateful day on battlenet, where a Warcraft map designer misstyped "owned". The creator had intended the loss script to read "[insert player title] has been owned". Instead, it read "pwned". The phrase, which was originally only battlenet exclusive spread like the plague, and now is used freely by just about every minor on the internet. taken from urban dictionary: 'It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force.' Just my two cents.

I just hope they win the WS so that all of my MA friends can stop their bellyaching every single year the Sox have a disappointing finish.
