A Smelly Problem | |
Theresa_M Moderator Queen of Zoom Posts: 3649 Kudos: 4280 Votes: 790 Registered: 04-Jan-2004 | I won some very nice fish coasters on ebay that arrived yesterday. They're some sort of plasticy-rubber (???), flexible, opaque. I'm very happy with them, except that they SMELL! Not hold-them-to-you-nose and notice a smell, but walk in the room and think what the heck is that? It's not from use; they were in original sealed boxes from Pier 1. I've had them soaking for 5+ hours in hot water & dish soap but it's not helping. Any thoughts on what I could use that won't damage them? ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

BTW, you are definitely overboard with fish stuff . Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |

If you find a way to get rid of it, please let me know. I hate the stench and it makes me want to be sick everytime I smell it. Leaving them out in the fresh air for a while should help, though ------------------------------------------------- I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. Even over night here with temps around freezing they still smell ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |

I did try baking soda, didn't work. The ex told me to put them outside...unfortunately when I asked how long it would take before they would be tolerable he said maybe never. I like them a lot so I wonder if I could make some sort of outside-hanging thing with them...just what a need, another project ~~~~~~~~~~~~ There is water at the bottom of the ocean |
