Last night I was in Dani (Garten) in chat, and was complaining about how I couldn't fall asleep. Dani's Idea: An activity she tried with Jorge, naming a fish for every letter of the alphabet. hehe...put me right to sleep, I only made it about halfway through.

Can you do it? Here's my list: (But try yourself before reading mine, or others)

Dani started me off with Angel, but I quickly thought of Arowana instead
Belted Barbs (double points! but I also thought of Bichir, Blue ram, bumblebee goby, betta, batfish, butteryfly, there's a ton)
Cards, clown loaches, clownfish, cories
Damsels, discus, dwarf gourami, dojo loach
Elephant nose
Flying fox, Firemouth, Fronts
Goden gourami, guppy, goby, goldfish, goldbarbs, Gar
Honey gourami, Harlies, head and tail light tetras
Irridescent Shark (That one took me AGES)
Jaguar, Julii
Killis, knifefish, keyholes
Lemon tetras
Molly, multi
Neon tetras
Oscar, opaline gourami
Paradise fish, panda cories
Queen Arabesque (sp?)
RTBS, rummies
Sparkling gourami, swordtail, six line
TriColor Shark, tiger barbs
Uaru
Violet gobies (there's such thing right)
Wrasse, weatherloach
X...got me there
Yellow lab, yoyo loach
Zoos (coral...)

So I almost did it...

Keep in mind, this was completely w/o using the internet...anybody could do it that way. I could have thought of more if I wasn't so sleepy.

Your turn!

X-ray fish, Liana. That's an easy one.

some of my answers are sc. names but if we're only counting common names then I've put those in parenthasis

Altum Angel
Bumble Bee catfish
Chaca Chaca Catfish
Delhezi bichir
Earth Eater
Firemouth
Giant Gourami
Hump Head cichlid (also called a Buffalo head)
Irridescent shark
Jade eyed cichlid
King Kong puffer
Leiarius longibarbus (Lima shovelnose catfish)
Mappa puffer
Nannacara nudiceps (Nicaraguan cichlid)
Opaline gourami
Polypterus palmas polli (Palmas polli bichir or Pignose Puffer)
Quetzal cichlid
Red Terror
Spotted Sunfish
Tetraodon travancoricus (Tinfoil barb)
Umbee
Venustus
White Saum
Xenotilapia flavipinnis (can't think of a common name)
Yo Yo loach
Zebra pleco

all these came off the top of my head except for the Xenotilapia flavipinnis. I am familiar with the Xenotilapia genus just not any of the individual species. So I win so far...I've got more double and triple points.
