I'll be in Chicago on a business trip, last week of June and I plan to have one day to see (some of) the city.
Does anyone know of a good LFS in the city of Chicago?

I'm not IN the city much, but just north of Chicago, in the suburb of Park Ridge, Living Sea Aquarium (at Cumberland & Devon) is awesome. It can be a bit on the pricey side, but the selection and quality are great. It's also one of the biggest fish stores you'll find in and around the city, complete with ray, shark and koi ponds. It's my favorite LFS.

If you're here, try to spend some time at the Shedd Aquarium downtown. I never get tired of going there and have gone with several FP'ers when they come into town on trips.

There's a couple other smaller stores in the NW suburbs of Chicago that I could recommend, but when I'm downtown, I'm not usually looking for fish. *grins* Not so sure they'd appreciate the train ride home (because I refuse to drive downtown).

I don't intend to actually buy fish, since importing them into Holland would be h*ll;
I just want to see what US fish stores look like.

I've only got one day to spend on "non business" so it'll have to be in the city, otherwise I won't get around to buying present for the kids ...

Tinfoil,

I live in the Chicago area, what Kitten said is true. Go see the Shedd Aquarium. It's unbelievable.

As for LFS, go to Scott's in Westchester. They have a nice selection of salt & freshwater. I especially like the freshwater stingrays they have. They have it all.
