I went to an "interview" at Petsmart a couple months ago... I watched a video on Petsmart and filled out an application. I didn't get a chance to talk to a human being, really. Got a job at Petco instead. Anyway, maybe you should insist on talking to a live human being during your visit if they don't set something up for ya.

I wish I could work at my local Petco, I'm sure I would do great there! The problem is, you need to be at least 18. (why?) 2 years to go...

Petco seems to be committed to the well-being of the animals. I imagine they want to do their best to hire responsible adults (yes, I know a lot of people under 18 are more responsible than some over 18, but it's the majority you have to look out for). Plus you handle dangerous animals (like the tokay gecko that bit me) and they wouldn't want to be liable for an animal biting someone whose parents would have had to sign releases for that. They already have a TON of paperwork everyday as it it...

i used to work for Petsmart. obviously, i was part of the pet care department i loved it. at times it can get kind of chaotic especially on the weekends when the entire town goes shopping but i enjoyed working with the animals and fish. you'll have fun working at petsmart, it's a great pet store...in my opinion, one of the best considering it's a national chain.

it is prefered to be 18 and older to work at petsmart, but you may be 14 1/2 at select stores but youll need a workers permit.

I work at Petsmart. The reason you "never see a live human being" at their preliminary interviews is simple: We get dozens of resumes a week, most of them from people who are just blanketing and don't specifically want a job at Petsmart, they're just handing out resume's everywhere. Everybody gets a chance at a preliminary interview, it weeds out a lot of the people who aren't suitable for the job.

I do love working there, though there are some things that tick me off... We're only allowed to say nice things on this website so I'll just say this: The people are nice, the discount is nice, but beaurocracy can be frustrating!

I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!
