Ok... I'm looking to sell my lot and I don't really know how much it should go for... Any help would be fantastic...

55g: (6 months old)
Homemaid stand (unfinished, it's basically a wood box frame)
2 Penguin 330s
1 Ebo-jager Heater
20lbs of pure white sand
60lbs of texas holey rock
Full top with lights

30g: (1.5 years old)
Homemaid stand (finished, it looks decent)
Penguin 170
Tons of fake plants
Fake Tree Stump
Some cheap heater
Natural Gravel

Both of them together cost me about $600

[link=No reason to keep it going... My tanks were never as nice as I wanted them to be... They always lacked depth and personality... It just stoped being fun... *shrug*]http://www.fishprofiles.com/files/forums/Water%20Quality/48820.html?200410162312" style="COLOR: #87B8DF[/link]

fine. i vote you sell them all, perhaps not as a whole, split it on Ebay.

then go buy a nice all in one tank and 3 feederfish.

less work, but still the wet peace

Awwww.... Y'all are so sweet ...
I'm a horrible fish keeper though the fish would probably be better off far away from me

Here are my options...
A: Sell everything (Doesn't seem to be too popular )

B: Sell/Relocate the rocks and the fish from the 55g and sell the entire 30g except for the rtbs and use the money to redo the 55g for the rtbs.

C: Relocate all the fish except for the rtbs, use the stuff from the 30g to redo the 55g, and use the stuff from the 55g to redo the 30g and restock.

I choose option B. Anything but giving up the hobby, you don't want to do that. The fish need you...

Option C sounds like you're just flip-flopping the two tanks you have now. You gotta make 'em different to keep yourself interested I think.

I'd go with B. I think you should make the 55 a really cool RTBS tank, him being the centerpiece shishie.

Glad you're considering staying around...FP w/o you would be a teensy big odd. elfup

Even if I got rid of all my fish I'd still hang around here ...

I would be swapping them around, yes... But I think the stuff in my 55 would look better in my 30, plus I could restock both tanks, which is what I really like to do... .

I could have a huge rockscape in my 30, and a nice open river bed in my 55g .

But first I must be rid of my fish ... Anyone in houston need a buncha fish?

<<<< agrees with ferret (that's my girl! )

If you're going to make a change, then make sure it's enough of a change that it keeps you interested. Don't be half-hearted about it. No point just fiddling around the edges then getting bored again a few months down the track.

I could have a huge rockscape in my 30, and a nice open river bed in my 55g

ooh, sounds lovely!

I'm going to get bored with it again in a few months anyway... It's what I do

Yeah, now I just need to get the fish some new homes...

My idea (so far)

30g:
Stuff:
60lbs of texas holey rock (from the 55)
20Lbs of white sand (from the 55)

Fish:
5 Electric Yellows (from the 55)

55g:
Stuff:
Natural gravel (from the 30)
Drift Wood Arch (From the store)
Tons of fake plants (From the 30)

Fish:
1 Red Tailed Shark (the only reason I'm not scraping the lot) (from the 30)
I need some help with the stocking... I'd like simple, small fish...

Fish to rehome:
1 Runt Firemouth
2 Firemouths
10 Tiger Barbs
6 Albino Corys
6 Bronze Corys
3 Pseudotropheus Acei
3 Kenyii
3 Rustys
3 Cobalt Blues

John I haven't talked to you too much, So you probably don't even know me. But I was dissappointed to see you about to give up on the hobby. I'll keep it short and sweet. It seems to me you have all the right stuff, just have hit a couple of bumps in the road. Don't give up, let evryone here help you enjoy this. I'd be willing to bet WHEN things do go right, you'll find you accomplishment very gratifying! Please stay..the fish will miss you
BTW i'd go with plan B too!

Awwww That's nice of you to say

No bumps... Just a lack of intrest... edit: No trouble... my tanks are running perfectly... most normal people would be pleased... but not me however... I lose intrest... quickly... Even if everything was perfect, I'd hate it in a few months.

I think my plan above is the best thing I can do... and this time I'll stock sanely.

I also would recommend changing things around a bit, as you mentioned. A good LFS might trade out some fish for you, I have one in GA that will do that for you to help you out. If you lived close and were interested in platies I have a zillion. They are very personable. Lucky for me, we are way too busy to get bored with our tanks... I am a SAHM and that means my 22 mos old and I have preschool and playgroup and mommy & me... so when I finally get the chance to relax I enjoy watching the fish. We tend to pull the plants out to trim them up about every month so we rearrange a lot. Anyhow, good luck and I hope changing things sparks your interest again.

Thanks for the offer, but I've done the live bearer thing . In fact I've got a 130g pond full of the little things .

I guess it's just I've been keeping fish for a good long time... Almost 2 years now and I really haven't gotten any pay off...

The problem is I don't have a good LFS, so I rather much just give them away to someone who will properly care for them... The loss of money is the least of my concerns.

Now... As impatient as I am I won't be waiting long for my fish to be taken off my hands... A few days at most... After that I'll donate them to a LFS or put them into said pond... whatever the case maybe.

Now on to stocking... I want to go with mindless swimming drones... I want movement.

30g:
5 Electric Yellows

55g:
1 Red Tailed Shark
14 Harlequin Rasboras
14 Cardinal Tetra
8 Khuli Loaches (or other bottom feeder)
