Troy, hands off our movies and music but you can keep Russell Crowe alias Russ Le Roq - we sent him to you for a reason

Calla, I saw and LOVED:
Priscilla - Queen of the Desert
Muriel's Wedding
Strictly Ballroom
The Castle

And rabbit-proof fence is on my list of must-see-soon movies.

So we were talking in chat...

What Aussie movies have you seen that you liked?

My list is as follows:
Shine
The Road to Nhill
Breaker Morant
Priscilla-Queen of the Desert
Muriel's Wedding
Strictly Ballroom
The Castle
Lantana
Rabbit-Proof Fence
Welcome to Woop Woop

There is also one, it could be called The 2 of Us, which is about a gay son and looking after his father. Paul Mercurio is in it..

What do you guys like? If you are overseas, what ones have you heard of?

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Mad Max? is that aussie
sure was. It was renamed in Americia. "Road Warrior".

Jack Thompson was in that movie "Some Of Us" callatya.

I don't like many Aussie Movies. If I had to name one it probably be the Mad Max Movies. Also Stone. (hubby and I are ex-bikers from awhile ago).

But was dundee (stupid bit of ]:|) a real aussie film, or an american film set in oz;0

I suppose this is my fault .

Okay the movie I saw, late night on bravo, I missed the name of but I'm rather certian it was an aussie not american film.
It had a girl that was part of a cult from india and her mum (*shows off her aussie speak) is trying to get her out of it so hires this guy from america (figures) that is supposed to help break her. But she instead ends up ....emm... persuading him into activities they shouldnt' have done considering he was twice her age. Then somehow he ends up wearing a dress and lipstick and he hits her and stuffs her in the trunk then they go wandering around without water and he falls over and starts hallucinating about her and umm yeah.
So he falls in love with her, she still hates him, then she decides she's in love with him. And the movie ends with her going back to india with her mum (who hated the country in the beginning) and he goes back to the states and has twins with his girlfriend. And that's it .

Aussie movies I've seen.....rabbit proof fence. I'm trying to find the sum of us, I'll probably have to order it thru netflix though.

"There’s an emptiness inside her. And she’d do anything to fill it in.
And though it’s red blood bleeding from her now. It's more like cold blue ice in her heart.
She feels like kicking out all the windows. And setting fire to this life."
