I guess it was lucky I found it before the water striders attacked it or the Mosquitofish could pick at it to death. After I got it out it spent a few minutes cleaning itself and then flew away. I would imagine, however, that if I had not found it the water it would have been on a tree or shrub, as typical for most members of the family. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Babelfish Administrator Small Fry with Ketchup Posts: 6833 Kudos: 8324 Votes: 1570 Registered: 17-Apr-2003 | The stripes on the moth remind me of a beetle I saw this past weekend when we were at the waterfall. I would have taken a pic if I wasn't in the process of falling down the rockface. This little guy was 5mm max, and perfectly even red and green horizontal stripes that made it look like a elf sock. I really wish I'd been able to get a pic (instead of falling) as I just tried to look on google and couldn't find anything remotely similar ^_^ |

And I found some type of bug today I don't think I've seen... I think it might be a juvenile Largus species (plant bugs). I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |
