Baby Turtles in Chinatown | |
edwardorino Fingerling Posts: 17 Kudos: 8 Votes: 1 Registered: 07-Jun-2006 | I went to Chinatown in Chicago and found these guys in a small touristy shop. You can see pics of them here: http://theneedsofthefew.blogspot.com They were $10 for two. I wanted to buy them all and release them in the wild. I also have a pic of live eels from a grocery store! Can you keep those guys in an aquarium? |

I can't really tell from the picture, but the eels are probably some type of Conger Eel. They can be kept in aquaria, but need an extremely large tank. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Ok, now I am in michigan, I dont know if all of what I am going to say is nation wide or just state or in other countrys. but here goes but thats partly wrong. i know because i have been investigating them before i purchased mine. but what the deal is, that for anybody of any age to purchase them they must be 4 inches. but an adult (over 18) can purchase the the ones under 2 inches, but have to sign a waver stating that they are for scientific purposes only and that they will monitor any contact that children will have with them. and all of this was put into place because children were putting the smaller ones in their mouth and getting salmonella poisoning from them. Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

Kids today are too sheltered. I was climbing redwood trees, catching snakes, raising bugs, and taking care of fish by the time I was five. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

Don't know if those eels ARE Congers, but this page has some interesting images and statistics for the species found in UK waters. Take a look at the one staring out the scuba diver near the bottom of the page - I reckon that one is a good 80 lbs or so in weight. The European species is a beast - big ones reach 3 metres (nearly 10 feet) and tip the scales at 110 Kg, or 250 lbs. Not my idea of a practical aquarium fish ... |

Therefore, it's not logically sound to say that no one needs a helmet "for sure", because that dude could've certainly used one right then. It hardly makes you more testosterone-bound to strut around proudly declaring that you don't wear helmets while biking. |

My favorite dish was probably the Vegetarian Crepe. Reminded me of a dish my mom makes every once in awhile. Thank you everyone for visiting my blog! I hope to see you guys in there real soon! |
