I will have a look at these 'Python' things. They seem very good. Have to see how much they cost in the UK.

You say It then pumps fresh water back into your tank.

Does that mean you have to de-chlorinate the whole tank?

Also,my tap water is about 10 degrees cooler than my tank temperature.

A Python initially sucks the water straight out of the tank and into the drain by using the tap for suction. Then, you reverse the direction (or something like that) and it actually fills the tank back up by acting as a hose. This way, you just add dechlorinator and you're good to go...as long as your tap water has a decent pH and compound for your tank...which is what keeps me from getting one...stupid 8.5+ pH...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

nitro, i totally understand the back pain, especially when your trying to fix rocks in the tank

i have a 75g tank that's in the wall...it's rather hard to do anything...water changes are easy but i need buckets to empty..but we havea fabricated thing to fill it from the pump...but every other tank...is buckets....

one day my dad's putting a sink in the basement for the fish...then we'll get a python...

i can say that buckets are pretty dangerous, i've spilt one before ...

Get yourself a Python... then you wont have to carry any water through the house. It will save you loads of time, tons of effort, and pretty much any and all stress to your back. They are fairly cheap too... especially compared to hiking through the house with buckets of water. Good luck!

Buy a python gravel vac. No more bucket lugging.

I am level 4 allergic to toxic molds. They were caused by excess moisture in my basement due to the indoor pond and multiple tanks.
