I haven't been there in a while. Maybe I should drop by again soon.

I went to the National one in DC. Given my previous experiences, I thought it was a let down, but can see how novices might enjoy it.

Barnes and nobel is in the inner harbor right behind the aquarium, where power plant used to be...emm think ESPN zone is there now....the tank they have is kinda like advertising for the aquarium...set up and labeled just like the aquarium (complete with incorrect names...the first one to say altum is going to have to deal with me ])....

exotic aquatics...it takes a while to get their page to load...not a very helpful site but they're people are pretty nice...from what I've heard second hand the owner used to be co-owner of AC...:%)...and I've been meaning to get to TFP sometime.....

I go to AC all the time. Great store, though their customer service needs some improvement. Of course I think that has a lot to do with who you talk to as well as how busy they are. I'm always curious to see what large fish they have. They tend to be a bit pricier than other places, but I've always had good experiences with their fish.

I also make regular trips to That Pet Place/That Fish Place, awesome store , even though they are remodelling right now and their selection is somewhat lessened.

I'm definitely going to have to check out EA next time I'm in the area. Their site seems to be broken right now though.

The aquarium in the zoo is neat.

I've never been to that Barnes and Noble either. Where exactly is it?

we measured that tank...decided that it was 5' tall 5' deep (hard to tell) and according to my armspan measurement...about 13' long...and they had it on the second floor

t'anks for the link I'd looked around there before...just wanted to know if anyone had done the walk themselves .

You can check out the National Aquarium's information here:http://www.nationalaquarium.com/planyourvisit.htm

I forgot about the Barnes & Noble tank until now. Those cories almost made me drool.
I was also amazed at the sizes of everything until I realized how thick the glass was.

Planning a trip. That could be interesting. I think there is some law against too many FPers in the same public aquarium!

Oh yeah, what and where is this Exotic Aquatics?

The Federal Triangle stop (Orange and Green) will take you to a couple blocks from the aquarium. It's kind of weird to me that it's in the basement of the Department of Commerce Building.

Puffer, the DC one is nothing compared to the Baltimore one, in my opinion. If I remember correctly (it's been about a year for me), it's basically a hall leading to an elliptical hall, both two tanks high.

Cory, I knew that...not sure what I was thinking. Thanx for the correction though!

I live near Gettysburg, PA, my fiance however, lives in Annapolis.

Nothing wrong with enjoying photography! Whenever my fiance and I do something together, she always gives me her camera because I actually remember to take pics. I wish I could afford to get my own...but college has this nasty habit of sucking you dry.

Anyone who has been there, how does the DC aquarium compare?

Well, I was at the Baltimore Aquarium over the weekend and got some pictures. Enjoy!

Aquarium

I always welcome feedback on quality of pics.

Oh and babelfish, thank you, I saw your link in another post to irfanview. Awesome program! My free trial of photoshop ran out so I've been looking for another program, it works really well!

The croc that you're referring to is actually a Caiman, a close relative of the croc!

Caimans are actually in completely different families as crocodiles. They are in the gator family, and upon close inspection you will notice that they look exactly like miniature alligators.

Great pictures!

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Yeah, no kidding! The croc that you're referring to is actually a Caiman, a close relative of the croc!

I have thought about donating my Pacu to them, but I'd be very surprised if they actually took him. I don't want to give him up, but I'm doubtful now that I'll be able to build the proper home for him soon enough.

Babel, you live close to the aquarium?

Great pics! That croc sure looks mean!

I went on the Babelfish Guided Tour to the aquarium in July and also snapped some pics. Most of them are fuzzy-as and they're subjects babel has photographed more competently herself, but I think I'll throw some into the mix anyway. As soon as I remember where I put that CD...

That Ibis is so beautiful... hard to believe that's the real colour of a bird's feathers.

With the cat, I glanced in and saw him...he was swimming away. I promptly told him he had to come back so I could get his picture...and he did! The cloud of cardinals was very cool.

The fish that gave me the most trouble was the pacu. He simply refused to come out and let me get a good picture.

I can't wait to see the australia exhibit either, it looks like it's going to be incredible!

Hmm, I wonder if they accept fish donations
