Danielle (gartenzwerfe) and I and her family are going up to Maine for two weeks, and they said we MIGHT stop off in Baltimore....

So if we did, it would be around the 24/25th of july. No i'm not saying you guys should change your Aquarium trip (unless you want to.... ) but it would be nice to meet any Baltimore area FP people. Danielle wouldn't mind either. Any takers?

You mean this guy shini???? I always used to see him, then missed him one weekend and almost had a heart attack that he had been moved ...one of my personal faves cause the colors are just too amazing for words, and he's rather difficult to shoot .

Oh and morning feeding time for the divers to do the big tank is around 11am, the smaller tanks are often fed before then.

Theresa_M, you definatly have to come we're looking @the week of july fourth on ....

The National Zoo is good, at least it's free. We liked the fish displays in the Amazonia Exhibit http://natzoo.si.edu/Animals/Amazonia/ Last time my husband was there he said they had a new exhibit with Endler's

Mornings are better; is it just me, or d othe fish come out more? I actually saw the Mandarinfish (for the first time!) the last time I went, which was in the morning!

July? Depends... I will be down there one day as a trip with Summer college, but I do not know if it's that same week, and I might actually be hanging out with some friends instead (sorry!). I'm booked for the whole month of July otherwise...

If we happen to meet, I know the place like the back of my hand; I could be a tour guide there.

BTW whetu, be sure to check out the National Zoo in DC if you can. Some nice FW set-ups are there, I believe, with fish like Arapaima and stingray, if I'm not mistaken!

Thanks babelfish for letting Sister Hiyo know my whereabouts. Yep, looking forward to the aquarium trip and having a whale of a time!

I believe the pier 5 hotel is really close, as in rolling out of bed close

hotels from their site....

I dont know any names as I have only been there once. But I did notice that where was some in the area. You might want to call the aquarium or even look on the site as they might have specials with the local hotels like a package type thing.

Does anyone know what hotels are within walking distance of the Aquarium? Husband has decided it would be nice to drive into Balt on Sat and stay overnight.

Hello... this is Whetu's sister here... I was just having a look on your message board see if there was any sign of my sister, you know, just to see if she was still alive and stuff. Anyway, I have now seen the evidence that she is most certainly alive. Not only that, but having a fantastic time by the looks of things! If you see her, please tell her I said hi, and I hope you all have (or had) a good time at the aquarium! Bye!

Wow, Baltimore Aquarium was pretty cool today with some of their improvements. Unfortunately, they seemed to have pretty much nuked the Pacific Reef exhibit, which was one of the best ones... The Mandarinfish now shares it's home with a few other fish, and the tank it lives in looks better now, though. I also found that they lacked their piranhas (though I somewhat ignored their tank), which I found kind of weird...

None within walking distance shini but Barnes & Nobels has a nice tank on the second floor...even if they do have the angels marked wrong .

oh suppose I should update emmm we're planning on meeting around 8:45ish to get in right when it opens.

An hour or two inside, then stop by barnes and nobels to see their tank (maybe a cup of coffee for those of us addicts )

Then the LFS's and rainforest cafe...we'll discuss when we meet up though

Okay everyone...as some of you know Whetu will be starting her world tour 2004 soon....she'll be staying with me for awhile and we're planning on going to the Baltimore Aquarium http://www.aqua.org...I've got a one year membership, and can get reduced tickets (not by much but every bit helps ).

She'll be here hopefully in time for fourth of july in the Nations Capital, then staying for around a week or so, maybe more depending on if we can pull her away from the smithsonian.

So if anyone is interested in a trip to the baltimore aquarium with us, probably on the weekend sometime...post here...or PM me or e-mail me ...or call me .

It's probably gonna be insanely crowded by 11 AM though...

yeah I normally try to be finished by 11am , I made the mistake of trying to go back to the small cichlid tank on the second floor once, not something I'm gonna do again . I have been going pretty much every sunday, skipped the past two though I think I needed a break .

Babel, you go to Baltimore pretty much weekly, right? IF you see a bus-load of students come down July 4th you know it's us. It's probably gonna be insanely crowded by 11 AM though...:%)

i am...strange...i think i would be able to go but i ahve to wait til i get back to my moms to ask her. would i be the youngest? o and my mom already promised me a trip to the aquarium so nevermind i will just tell her i want to go on...wait im going to be in Maine July 4th oooo well i will go sometime in july wait...nevermind u read and u said ur goign july 11th. im confusing myself:%)

I was confused in the first why we were going from cincinnati to baltimore to maine. Sorry, can't meet anyone this year. Unless you come to cincinnati.

i might be able to go...but i doubt u would want a 14 year old tagging along thats only barely 5 feet tall besides i doubt my mom would let me go with total strangers i live down in calvert county...for those of u who know where that is
