WOW! That is pretty impressive! Poor fish. Amazing it did so well after everything was said and done. I guess it goes to show what good condition he was in to begin with to be able to withstand something like that. I wonder how long he had to be out of the water for the whole "operation"?!

Note the date when it happened - just shy of a week ago as of this post. Keep an eye on that thread for his progress - anything can happen.

Pretty crazy.

I think I saw some Koi surgeries on Animal Planet once.

That is awsome Cory_Di.:88)I do feel sorry for the poor fish that got stuck in the belly. That is some crazy operation they did. Thanks for letting me see that.

Yeah lil_mikey... I saw that koi surgery too. If I recall correctly it was some Japanese guy that had it shipped to the US for the surgery because it was like some prize show fish or something. Everything turned out fine for that fish in the end, but these were serious professionals working on it, not some Joe Shmo on his kitchen table.

I looked through the rest of his site too. Apparently he knows a considerable amount about these fish and watches them ALOT. I doubt I would have noticed a small protrusion in and my fish's bellies...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

Here's more that Dr. Erik Johnson performs:

He's one of those getting paid well to do this. You can even ship your fish to him through this site:
