I guess it goes to show what good condition he was in to begin with to be able to withstand something like that. I wonder how long he had to be out of the water for the whole "operation"?!

If I recall correctly it was some Japanese guy that had it shipped to the US for the surgery because it was like some prize show fish or something. Everything turned out fine for that fish in the end, but these were serious professionals working on it, not some Joe Shmo on his kitchen table.
