Due to the fact that I use and need it for work.

With out this I would be lost and wouldn't be as productive.

I used to have a cell just for emergencies. Then it got to the point where I was spending more time out of the house than in it. I'd NEVER get my messages if someone called the house because my parents always forgot to give them to me. Or gave them days later, when the point was moot. Now I give my cell number as my main number.

When I move out (which I WISH was soon, drat it!), I'll just have the cell, no land line. Why pay for both? And I'll finally get my poor computer off of dialup and on something more worthy of it.

I've got 500 minutes on my cell plan and generally use about half of that, but Nextel doesn't offer a smaller plan, to my knowledge.

voted for I'd just DIE without my cell phone!!!

Really I like Babel and several others I'm sure don't have a home phone, it is my home phone, and until February of this year could run 5000-6000 minutes a month easily. I was paying for 2000 a month, and kept getting too close so I paid for my night time minutes to start at 7pm. NowI barely use 750 minutes a monthThings happen ok? I've dropped down to paying for a 1000 a month, but refuse to go less simply because the money I'd save wouldn't be worth it...$5? I get free text messaging, that or they haven't ever kept tract of how many I actually use

Honestly most of my minutes I can say go to calling parents these days...nothing like saying, oh Johnny you don't want to do the assignment, here's your mom, and hand him my phoneand since I'm refusing to stay after 3:30 these days, I call the parents I need to on the way homeOh and keep in mind not all of my calls are for bad reasons, sometimes it is because little Suzy did so well today

I use Nextel. I have about 30 customers who use the 2 way radio feature. I also handle all of the IT for my parents company. They have 16 outside salesmen and I handle their needs as well. I may be answering questions 7 days a week at off times and hours lol.

I got the inspiration for this poll from my own cell phone. I'm actually going to keep it with me now, and have it turned on. I'll experience the thrill of people being able to call me wherever I'm at. I don't know whether to be happy or sad, 'cause I'm not a phone person.

But hey! Back to the poll. Do you own and use a cell phone, and if so, how often?

EDIT: Awright, I didn't realize that people used their phones so much! As I said, I'm not a phone person. I goofed on the hour ranges, so just post however much you use your phone, if you will.

Voted for two to four

Not as much as I used to...really only talk with tim and he's got opposite hours to me now .

and I've got way too many night and weekend minutes ...I'm not really a phone person but I do need it, mostly cause I havent got a landline in the house...or internet..so when I broke my favorite cell...then lost the replacement I was rather lost :%).

Mine is mostly used for work. I wouldn't be able to accomplish nearly what I do without it. It's a hassle at times, but with caller ID you can take just the calls you want.

Less than two hours a month. I hate talking on phones, and when I do the call is nearly always under a minute.

Your hours are kinda unrealistic, usage is usually much higher than those. 5000-6000 minutes on my one cell phone, and 3000+ on the second one are common. Yes, I carry two cell phones. Long story. Just replaced my LG with a Motorola 710 or something like that, have no idea. I hate cell phones, they are a necessary evil. Text messages average 1500-2000, yes I know that is around 30 a day at least.

Last year was only on the one phone and minutes ran between 1200-1500
