My chocolate addiction is legendary.

I once paid a visit to Thorntons' shop near Liverpool Central railway station (August 1998 I think) and ordered their hot chocolate. For those who haven't savoured this, Thornton's don't make hot chocolate the usual way (i.e., chocolate powder in water with some milk added). They melt whole chocolate chips in warm double cream. The resulting concoction is approximately 40,000 calories per mouthful, and you can feel your arteries fur up as you drink it. What a way to go

Anyway, I ordered a pound of their Premier Continental Selection to eat with it, and sat at one of the tables outside. I ended up with an audience of people watching me. One said "You're not going to eat that lot are you?", to which I replied, "Of course, it's my lunch ..."

They ended up running a book on whether I'd finish it or not.

And yes, i did.

Oh, I've been known in the past to have a whole chocolate gateau (six layers of chocolate cream filling between chocolate sponge cake, topped with chocolate ice cream and chocolate chips) for breakfast. And I have witnesses.

One year I added up how much chocolate I'd eaten over the requisite 12 month period. The total came to something like three quarters of a ton.

White 'chocolate' can't legally be called chocolate in the United States. It contains no cocca, so it is not chocolate.

Milk. Dark is a little too bitter for me. Good milk chocolate is way better. I think more people would like it if they had it. It is just really easy to find bad milk choco, like Hersheys, and harder to find such bad dark.

Who cares if it makes me unsophisticated - milk chocolate is just good. And plus, I think the french, italian, and latin skillz make up for this chink in my sophistication armor.

Clanger, high quality dark chocolate has no milk or milk products

Been there done that There is also soy chocolate, which is pretty good. It doesn't melt too well, but its great for that fix when you need it

I'm lactose intolerant now, so no choccie for me anymore.

But has anyone else discovered those gorgeous nuts roasted in honey? You buy them from a stall which has a big dish with roasting nuts and honey and scoop you out a load into a plastic bag YUM!!!!

They were selling them at the "burning of the clocks" at home.

Oooooh!!!!!!!
