Cloning For Dummies | |

So of course the one answer is to clone myself....My younger sister found directions on making custom dress forms online (such a wonderful thing that internets) and she made one earlier in the year. She agreed to help me make mine. First step was to pin a T-Shirt so that it actually fit me. Then to stitch it to size. Of course we needed space, so someone had to clean up her room. Go figure she is moving to a new apartment this weekend....she seems ready . First few plaster strips. We entertained ourselves by watching Chobits, and before we knew it we were most done. And soon it was off me (relitivly painlessly) and drying. Next stage is to make the form from the cast. ^_^ |

In the top pic you can see the one my sis made for herself, it gets me every time.... I had myself hanging in the bathroom earlier, looked like someone had hung themselves. I think my sister should do a bunch for halloween Now that I'm fully dried, it's time to cut me open. Aparently I'm quite hollow on the insides . While reinforcing the cast I started some paper soup. mmmm all done, boiled pay check stubs and loan paperwork. Wet paper is heavy! Final step of the day is to squeeze out the excess water and set it to dry. ^_^ |

As our Master Adam says "widdle". And yes, I do buy childrens clothes....but that's difficult because then the arms end up too short...and I HATE short arms...that and it's difficult to find business wear in the kids section I'll be using it for many projects....right now I'm working on a semi formal dress. Kinda hard since I dont have an exact pattern to work from, but we'll see how it goes. There's a rough sketch in the premie land WAYDN thread..... my younger sis and I worked on some sketch ideas a few days ago too. I worked on the filling Sunday, I'll see if I can get some pics posted soon. I still think they'll make great halloween decorations though ^_^ |

She was looking for some fabrics for her new apartment, I was doing ....research. Prices are a bit higher than I remember! Back at my place it was time to get the paper mache mix ready. I'm made of sugar spice and everything nice, my clone is made of paperpulp, glue and wallpaper paste. After stuffing, and drying, the form was removed from cast it recieved an additional skin of paper mache strips on the top. After all that work someone deserved to enjoy the summer air...I guess it wasnt me. Unfortunatly the cast wasnt thick enough and flattened after it had the wet mache applied. I hope I can fix it and dont have to start all over again ^_^ |
