I am - sort of

That's my case - the puter inside isnt really up to much,

XP2500+ barton
DFI LanPArty Ultra B
Radeon 9600 (soon to be a 9800 pro )
Audigy 2
240gb HDD
a really cool fan that changes colour when the air temp rises - very handy
erm, think that's the most important bits - I tried to OC my processor, but windows threw a hissy fit, so I had to cloc it back down.

do you find windows holds steady with your barton at 3200 - I cant get windows to remain stable when OC'd, lots of lovely BSOD's

Now I see how you do it - looked at the pics. That is a monster heatsink!! What is it? I have to use the stock AMD one, I can't find another that'll fit, and I dont want to switch to watercooling. Thought about a Peltier for a while, but went off that idea very fast!

Oh I actually have been looking into a liquid cooled board. Why don't you like the idea?

erm - do you know anyone with watercooling? I have 2 mates who use it, and it is a nightmare, all of them are stripping it out of their systems. Their puters are heavy, difficult (and scarey) to transport and the pump's lifespans are shortened to the point of blowing without warning by the design of the setup.

If you dont move your puter, then it would be a good system. Also, you'll probably do better being a fishkeeper, having a better understanding of water and ALGAE (gross!!!) in your system, and how to keep an eheim happy.

yea i have a good heatsink on mine which helps with keeping the cpu steady.. when u overclock ur cpu over runs so it heats up more.. keeping it cooler is a must to make sure you dont melt your cpu.. i would not recomend overclocking with a stock heatsink.. try somthing like a Zalman CNPS7700-AlCu they are quiet and do an excellent job of cooling the cpu!!!

Water cooling is amazing.. but very expensive, takes up alot of room in your case and is recomended is you make it yourself.. really only look into watercooling if you are really into overclocking.. in that case it will keep ur cpu/vga etc at low temps!!

my barton is hard to keep steady.. it runs steady while chatting and playing some games.. but when i play big games such as bf142 desert combat it tends to crash.. so i declock it .. and oc it back when done..

Yes, I know of two people that use them, and they swear by them, that is why I was considering one on my new computer. They don't move their comps any that I know of. They are game testers. They are the guys that play all the new games, months and months, before they ever hit the stands. And they get paid good money to do it, lol, man would I love to have thier jobs. lol. My comp will be stationary, and never be moved unless I relocate my desk. I was just getting together all the things I am going to be placing in my comp and the liquid cooled board was one of them. Oh well, maybe I'll do some more looking into them.

wow i wish i had a job like that.. there comps would for sure need water cooling as there hardware would constently be under strain.. i'm guesssing they would have to play it all on highest graphics etc..

i emailed u a couple of links for some watercooling kits etc.. sounds cools..

suprised they dont use phase change with systems running like that! though I suppose the extra 40kg bolted onto your case might cause problems lol #
You could always consider phase change if you do serious processor intensive work, ACID.

I looked at the Zalman HS, it wont fit without fouling capacitors on my mobo.

I went the peltier route on my computer I've currently got it out (I need to rewire my custom job on my triple PSU's, so I don't have enough power to get it to work). I recently got a new copper heatsink (70 some fins, the works ) so I'll be able to get some more speed out of my processor when I get it all back together

All my computer stuff is under the computer tab on [link=my site]http://poisonwaffle.topcities.com" style="COLOR: #00FF00[/link]

I should probaby watercool the backside of my peltier now...hmm

I wanted to go AMD when I got my new board (notice all of the pics are from when I had my ASUS board that originally came in a Vaio) but I didn't have enough money for an AMD CPU too, so I just got a board that'd support the P4 I had.

I need to update my site...I've since gotten a new graphics card (GeForce 5200 w/dual 350MHz NVIDIA GPUs, 256MB DDR, the works ...just not PCIExpress, but it works for me...)

yeah? My bf has just got SLI cards to fit on his new Athlon 64 machine, very cool.

Do you use the thermaltake pelt system, or is it a custom job?

I did it custom. I was actually contemplating building the peltier myself (I built one at school too, but I couldn't get it to work right for some reason), but I didn't want something to go wrong and for it to stop working while the computer's on and ruin anything, so I ordered one online. I do have a copper ThermalTake cooling unit on top of the peltier (the Xaser+7 or something...it works great, but at 6400 RPM (maximum) it is a tad loud), and I really like it. I can effectively overclock to 2.6GHz (from 2.4GHz) and still keep my temp under 100F under a full load (82.4F when idle) just with air cooling!

I still have to fix my extra PSU's so I can get my pelt running again... another project for this weekend...
