Well I am getting fed up with my camera and I have a birthday coming up next month so I am going to ask for a camera. I ant a digital of course and a budget of 200 dollars and less. Here is what I was thinking. It is 189.99

I think it is a pretty nice looking camera. It is ideal for detail and action shots. I mainly want to photograph my fish but I was also thinking of taking a photography class next year.

Tell me what you think. And if you have suggestions as to better cameras that are at my budget. Thank you!

My roomate just got a Kodak digital a couple of months ago and it takes really nice pictures. I'll ask her tonight which one it is.

I'm verrrry happy with my Canon Powershot A610. Its harder to find now as it is about 2 years old, however the rest of the Powershot series is as good as my model from what I have read.

I like cnet.com for their electronic reviews.

I've owned several different models of Kodal digital cameras and have had very good luck with them. My current one is around 2 years old and I have taken over 9000 photos with it with never a problem. For point & shoots they seem to be pretty reliable. I've also had Canon Powershots which also worked well and I recently gave my wife a Sony TC5 and she really likes it.

I don't think you can go wrong with your choice.

I too have the Canon Powershot A610 and LOVE it!! However, even though it's been out a while, it's still running in the $300 range. (at least around here they are.)

I got a Canon Powershot A540 (I think that's the number ) for Christmas, and, so far, I'm loving it. It's not quite as expensive. I saw them at Circuit City for $199.

My favorite digital camera I've used so far is a sony cybershot dsc-p200. My mom bought it and I used it for pics outside alot. Then the back screen got broken so she gave it to me and bought a new one. You can still take pics and load pics but you can't view them or the settings unless you hook it up to a computer. It takes excellent aquarium pics even without being able to mess with the settings. Much much better than my boyfriends olympus camedia. I've yet to get a good pic of my tanks using that thing.

I really like my new canon powershot a710 IS. The Image Stabilizer is what it's all about. The 6X zoom, 7MP, and huge lcd don't hurt either. Great handheld so far.
