I ant a digital of course and a budget of 200 dollars and less. Here is what I was thinking. It is 189.99 http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=7623841&type=product&productCategoryId=pcmcat99300050008&id=1130986103490 I think it is a pretty nice looking camera. It is ideal for detail and action shots. I mainly want to photograph my fish but I was also thinking of taking a photography class next year. Tell me what you think. And if you have suggestions as to better cameras that are at my budget. Thank you! |

Its harder to find now as it is about 2 years old, however the rest of the Powershot series is as good as my model from what I have read. I like cnet.com for their electronic reviews. My current one is around 2 years old and I have taken over 9000 photos with it with never a problem. For point & shoots they seem to be pretty reliable. I've also had Canon Powershots which also worked well and I recently gave my wife a Sony TC5 and she really likes it. I don't think you can go wrong with your choice. Jim |

However, even though it's been out a while, it's still running in the $300 range. (at least around here they are.) "it's the neck, it creaks under the weight of too much heavy thinking." |

It's not quite as expensive. I saw them at Circuit City for $199. "Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder." |

My mom bought it and I used it for pics outside alot. Then the back screen got broken so she gave it to me and bought a new one. You can still take pics and load pics but you can't view them or the settings unless you hook it up to a computer. It takes excellent aquarium pics even without being able to mess with the settings. Much much better than my boyfriends olympus camedia. I've yet to get a good pic of my tanks using that thing. |

The 6X zoom, 7MP, and huge lcd don't hurt either. Great handheld so far. Critical Fertilator: The Micromanager of Macronutrients |
