Two Tanks Big Fish Posts: 449 Kudos: 328 Votes: 13 Registered: 02-Jun-2003 | Everytime I try to write a letter on my microsoft word, it lets me type for about five minutes, then gives me this message: Microsoft Visual C- Runtime Library Runtime Error! Abnormal Program Termination Then you can't do a thing but click on the X and the whole thing goes off loosing anything you may have started to write. Does anyone have a clue what this is about? I have Microsoft Works 2005 - dumped the entire program and reloaded it twice, but no improvement. I tried Tech support, but they won't fix it without charging me a fee. |

Yea, I know, I'm rather stating the obvious here, but I don't know how geek-ish you are, so I might be of some small amount of help... A reformat would most likely fix the problem, but that's probably more work than you'd want to or need to do. Unless you've got a lot of viruses or other problems that a reformat would fix, a reformat probably wouldn't be the best idea if you don't know what you're doing... HTH a bit |

I found an on line post on a computer website, that was about the same problem and gave it a try. It said I needed to go into my program files and uninstall "Works in Works Suite Add-in." I deleted it and now my word program works fine - something about a glitch in the Works program. If anyone else should ever encounter this problem, you now know how to fix it. Thank you for your help! |
