My sister and I have been vegetarian since birth, and my parents both were for a while, but mum now eats white and occasionally red meat, and I think dad did as well. He was still very into Eastern philosophy and theology though, in fact the last time I saw him, in hospital (he died last October), he was so intent on explaining the origins of Hinduism to my boyfriend that he kept running out of breath and I had to keep telling him "Dad, shut up and put the oxygen mask on!"
