I just got back from the everglades, and have a few pictures up. I decided to leave them as large as photobucket would allow, which is probably bigger than should be posted on the site. So I'll just link you to the album. I only have about 1/3 of the pics I took up. I'll report back when I put more up. Lemme know if you have any qs .

Nice Pics matty.

I especially like the clouds in anhingat.jpg!

How many mozzie bites did you get?

My family went when I was in 3rd grade end of december, spent one day out on those fan boats, got the biggest mozzie bite I've ever had in my life, was bigger than my knee

^_^

Thanks guys!

I used the mozzie spray you gave me babel . I only got a few skeeter bites(winter)....it was the two ant hills I didn't see that really got me. They hurt, then they itch like crazy! It looks like I have chicken pox all the way up my legs .

Those are some awesome photos... My favorites were the ones of the wild cornsnake and the alligators. I didn't know there were so many bromeliads down there - are they native?

Also, your Double-Crested Cormorant and Anhinga IDs are switched.

Thanks Natalie, I figured that was the case, dunno why I mix those up all the time.

I think there are something like 19 native broms, we found the majority of those; spanish moss, ball moss, stiff leafed, giant, reflexed, twisted, nodding catopsis, soft leaf, needleleaf, fuzzy wuzzy, and a few others. I haven't had time to get the scientific names yet though.

When I first saw the picture of the turtle, I thought it had two heads.

Interesting pics.. I never thought about flowers being there. I loved the coloring on that red, orange & yellow thing, whatever it was.

I'm currently uploading the rest, should be up in a few minutes. There are about three times as many pics as there were before. Some decent shots from the snorkeling day.

The one of the jawfish is great I've always found them to be very shy at the aquarium, was this one a little more people friendly?

Did they have cameras you could use or did you have your own case?

^_^

Hahaha, when I clicked the link and saw the third picture's thumbnail, I thought it was someone aiming some sort of assault rifle at the agave. It turns out it was just some weird-looking shadows.

I had to go back and look, but I kinda see what you are talking about Natalie.

Babel- I got the canon underwater case for my a710is for xmas this year. The test trial was in my sw tank. You can see them here. they are just the first six. It worked great in both instances, not a single drop made it in. Plus it floats, which was more helpful than I thought. Neat little toy .

I guess I just know how to relax jawfish. They seem to forget about you if you aren't moving for a certain period of time. So I just point the camera and wait. I had lots of practice with my own. They are one of my favorite fishes.

a proper underwater housing good deal! I have a skin for my P&S, I messed up meters and feet and took it way deeper than it was meant to go! Still got some ok pics in cairns, but it doesn't float the way yours does.

SW tank picks, love that front on shot of the clown....and sorry, gotta do it ....NEMO NEMO NEMO NEMO NEMO </3yo kid squealing>
