-Ok, so I was in the little mini-mart and saw they had a jug of REAL apple cider!! I was really excited but then realized I don't have room in my fridge for a whole gallon jug Very sad!

i would have to agree to tim on this one......Snow!!!!! that can be a good or a bad thing depending on what you drive.....if you have 4-wheel drive more power to you and u can screw around all you want....unlike you 4wd people me and tim are stuk with 2wd and will have to fight the snow and not get stuck........falll is good b/c of all the parties that are associated with winter gatherings....i also like to see the jets lose so thats a plus....cider donuts ummm only if i need to go really bad or i needa lose some weight.......fall also means the wind will be picking up and that is no fun when your truck gets tossed into a snobank or ditch.......fallll its so pretty till it gets cold and youve forgotten something in your vehicle thats parked in a snobank.....post later

I love this time for hiking. I hiked a buit over 20 miles last weekent at the savage gulf. Great area. Many large cliffs and overlooks, and some great waterfalls. We went to a cave with huge open rooms, also. The weather was perfect for hiking and camping.

I feel you Houston. I'm in Alabama and while it doesn't get quite as hot here in the summer..fall doesn't start til mid-October, early November. It is just now getting cooler. I am just so glad it doesn't snow here. Snow is horrible. I love fall colors though. Makes me want to take a scenic drive...haha not really. The colors are nice. Fall also means football here. Its a great season!

Yeah - autumn.

Wind, fireworks, bonfires, etc.

I dont like Halloween though. It's another example of the americanisation of our society and the forgetting of traditional customs. Halloween was never a big thing in the UK until about 5 years ago, Guy Fawkes was much bigger. BUt now the government have cracked down on Guy Fawkes (ironic really) and so more and more people are getting into halloween and forgetting.

And grrr for the new legislation which enables people to fire fireworks til 1am for Diwali, but only til midnight for Guy Fawkes. Multiculturalism is great, but surely everyone's ceremonies and customs should be permitted equally?

Oh and roll on the forecast hard winter

robyn, i'm still laughing at how that got leslie and not me

As for me my favorite part of fall? Well, since Texas doesn't necessarily have "fall" like most of ya'll know it, i can't say the changing of the leaves, i can't say it's closer to snow, but how about it's getting closer to not being nearly as hottoday I don't think we got much above 80 cold front did wonders and the kids are beginning to wear jackets and sweatshirts, some new piece of clothes to watch to make sure they aren't breaking dress code:%) but, heck if the wether keeps like this then I won't have to worry about getting the a/c fixed in the truck till uh feb? or march

Yes, cooler weather sounds great to me

Oh I forgot, Hocus Pocus everytime you turn on the tv and the great pumpkin and other goody shows

Do you have room for little containers of cider that add up to a gallon?

Ok... so Fall is NOT my favorite season - but for some reason, I am insanely excited this year. We passed a sign for "Cider Donuts" the other day. . .and as we turned into the parking lot... I cried a little.

What are you looking forward too this Fall season?

I think child labor laws scared them off ...

I'm not looking forward to Thanksgiving (mainly because I might be working practically that *whole week*)... but hot apple cider, cocoa, snow... unfortunately I don't expect much in terms of fall colors this year because with the drought a lot of the leaves have fallen already. :\ Man, I'm such a pessimist - I hope I haven't ruined it for anyone...

And so it begins.... My roommate aptly named tomorrow (Oct 1) as the "First day of Halloween" and has planned the day around the decorating the apartment.

So . . .Happy "30 days til Halloween"!!
