Many of you may remember that I was out of work with a type of asthmatic bronchitis brought on by who knows what. 5 doctors and 4 months later, and I'm finally well enough to head back to work. If that explains why I had stronger visibility in here all this time, that is why.

However, you will see much less of me now as it will be a challenge to re-integrate work and personal life.

Please remember to help those in need in the hospital. For those who don't go in there often, I would ask that above all, rule out the environment when people post their problems. Get the tank size, stock list and parameters before jumping to conclusions. That bloody red tail someone's goldfish has could merely be astronomical nitrates and it will go away as they are reduced and nitrates are maintained. Flicking with unseen parasites could indicate nitrites or pH fluctuations. Tanks with alot of sickness and death may be in need of a deep gravel vac to eliminate pockets of anaerobic bacteria and possibly hydrogen sulfide. It can't hurt to remove anything that is movable in part of a tank to go right to the glass in such cases. Done in sections every few days, it will not impact the biofilter. I've seen many tanks turn around with this kind of advice.

More importantly, be kind and try not to judge people too harshly. Note that someone with a first or low post count may not know much yet about real and practical fishkeeping. Hit them over the head and they will leave, forcing their fish into a life of misery. Show them understanding and ways to temporarily mitigate the circumstances, and they will likely stay and learn good things from you all.

I'll be around, just not as much

God Bless

Diane

Welcome back Diane!

Glad to see you are feeling better.

I'm back after some time off as well. >.<

Good luck. You're in our thoughts.

I’d close my eyes, wish upon a star, open my eyes, and there you are…
