Ralph "Bucky" Phillips pleads guilty

Former fugitive Ralph "Bucky" Phillips has pleaded guilty to killing one state trooper and wounding two others during his five-month run from the law.

Phillips pleaded guilty in state Supreme Court in Chautauqua County to murdering Trooper Joseph Longobardo and wounding Trooper Donald Baker Jr. -- both of Troop G in Loudonville -- on August 31.

The troopers were shot as they staked out a home during the search for Phillips. Longobardo died three days later. Baker was released from Albany Medical Center last week.

On Wednesday morning in a Chemung County court, Phillips pleaded guilty to attempted murder charges for shooting and wounding Trooper Sean Brown during a traffic stop outside Elmira on June 10.

Phillips was on the run for five months and surrendered in early September after being cornered in a field in northwestern Pennsylvania.

Awesome. Isn't he the guy that broke out of prison and did this like a month before he was to be released? He should be executed for stupidity.

One of my great-uncles got sentenced to 154 years in prison a while ago for being a convicted pedophile. Too bad he's already like 75 years old.

yea, he busted out with a can opener a few days before he was to be released. Talk about a moron.

Yes, I have written about him before.

If anyone should have been sentenced to Death.. it should be this guy! I suppose I will settle for Life in prision without parole though.
