Amazon abyss was rather hilarious, especially in the way they oversold everything.

"And tomorrow, the team scripted to search for the legendary jau...siluriid of your worst nightmares. In fact, just last week, a mother of two in a nearby village was a victim of a drive-by jauing. Did I mention its favored victuals are orphans and kitty cats?"

Also, my favorite;
narrator: "these murky waters may hold many perils"
cameraman: "my god, what's that?!!"

I'd probably like a show that didn't have a host talking to camera. Each episode like a mini doc profiling diff stores/displays/breeders etc.

Letting the guests be the feature is best.
Too many times an awkward, amateurish host pushes too much of themself to the fore. All wise cracks from the host and not enough from the expert guest.

No offense, I am sure your host would be cool but I have the horrors of that sort of thing. Embarrassing to watch is all.

First of all I want to thank everybody for their comments and suggestion. This has been really helpful, and I'm increasingly glad I posted here.

I want to say a little bit more about us. We're a small production company. Not a major hollywood studio or network. We like to do things right and do them well...

This is why I'm here talking to you guys!
All the information that will be provided on the show will be correct. The host will be knowledgeable, and let the guests and experts do the talking when he (or she) doesn't know as much.

The most interesting thing I got from reading you guys is about the "Expert level" of the show. This is something we're still discussing.

I have to point that our episodes will be short: 3 to 5 minutes each! This will enable us to create lots of them, meet a lot of different people with different tanks, and abord a lots of subjects.

This also means you won't be bored with "Bob's 10 gallon goldfish tank". Worst case scenario, if this covers a specific species or subject you don't like, the fast pace and fun atmosphere of the show will make the episode entertaining anyway.

So what do you think?
Keep the ideas flowing, I love it! And we want you guys to be part of the show as much as we are!

Ben.

Sounds good, I wouldn't even mind if an episode got extended to 10 or 15 minutes. You can talk quite a lot about certain topics!

It's hard to say the information is "correct" because a lot of the hobbyist information is not scientifically tested. There's a lot of opinions and even some myths around and sometimes a lot of big egos behind them. For example, steer clear from the "inch per gallon" rule unless you give a disclaimer that it's just a guideline and it breaks down with larger fish and active fish. I'd be VERY careful of what you say. A couple years back when Finding Nemo came out, tons of people were quite angry when a certain company came out and recommended putting fish such as clownfish and a hippo tang into what wasn't more than a few gallons of water.
