Roomies new canary isn't doing so hot.

It kind of.. threw up... then it couldn't really stay on it's perch, so it went to the cage bottom.

I tried to clean the ... er.. liquid out of its beak, and it started to act better. Then I put it back in the cage, it was acting much better.

Suddenly it's head wrenched backwards, it looked like a .. seizure. Then it kinda freaked out, flapping, almost trying to fly.. except it could only go along the floor.

We're terrified and angry .. what could be happening? Is there anything we can do?

*going to be cross-posting EVERYWHERE I can..*

Absolutely.

This is the sort of thing that needs to be seen by a vet ASAP. Birds, being prey animals, will hide diseases until they are very far along. By the time they show something like this it means they are very very sick! There isn't going to be any "home remedy" that will help for this, so what you need to do is take him to the vet, if you don't have a regular one, find one!

Well, we had called out emerg vet, and they didn't have anyone who "knew anyting" about birds. So we were looking for info to keep it as comfy as possible until the next morning.

At which time, we took it to our vet, and they said he was fine.. probably just something stuck in his crop.

Unfortunately, he has passed this evening.

We're looking for a new vet.
