Gilraen Took Hobbyist Posts: 73 Kudos: 30 Votes: 0 Registered: 06-Jan-2007 | So for a while now I have gone to one place in town for ALL of my saltwater stuff. They're usually great. Never had a problem(well. one. brief mention, the "antagonist" in my story mildly harassed me one time. no witnesses, no way to prove it) Basically when my salty tank crashed a few weeks ago I decided to take it down. I called the store to see if I could get credit for my stuff, and was told I could. So I took it in on Monday, but the guy I talked to(the one I like/trust) was out of the country on a planned trip and it was the guy I don't like that was there. He basically gave me a attitude and made it seem like he was doing a favour to me to take in my stuff. I didn't get a receipt since I trusted them, and took in over $300 worth of stuff, under the impression I'd be getting credit the next week or so. I came back on Friday of last week to make sure Ben(good guy) was back, since Monty(BAD GUY) had told me Ben would HAVE to be the one to give me the credit. Well, long story short I'm being screwed over right now since my stuff has seemingly vanished without a trace. Out of that $300, 150 was LR, since it goes for $10/lb here and the rest was coral. There was ONE piece that wasn't in great shape, my fox coral, the rest was in better shape then when I got it from THEM. Ben hadn't been told I had taken stuff in and when he asked Monty to show it to him he was shown a couple of little tiny frags I'd gotten less than a month earlier, so no chance of them getting bigger. Soo today when I went in to see if I had gotten any credit yet I still hadn't. Needless to say I'm quite irate about it. I got all but about 3# of the LR from THEM, and am pretty well known there, at one point they offered me a job even, if it matters. So basically what do I do? I'm going in tomorrow again to see if I can find out what happened to my stuff, but I have got the feeling that I'm going to be told that it all died and was tossed. As mentioned, the fox may have, it was badly, but the rest was in top notch condition. As in nearly reef central tank sort of good condition. So there's really no excuse for it not being there UNLESS it was sold cheaply, OR it was taken home by someone. What do I do now? |

Go talk to the O/M to see what you can do. I think you're going to hate the outcome since there wasn't a reciept and it's not there anymore. I think monty fleeced you |

See what you can find out from Ben or the owner. If nothing else, they may be interested to hear that so much stuff vanished under his watch. Or they may not believe you, it could go either way. I suspect that you'll get nowhere near that amount of credit even if they do make some sort of gesture. |
