Me an' a bunch of my friends are getting together tonight and we're gonna have a battle. 20 roman candles each... 10 shots per candle... 4 people. We're gonna do it paintball style--every man for himself/free for all! Person with the lowest hospital bill (j/k, I hope!) and the least amount of burns wins! |

My shirt (cotton tshirt) caught on fire from one of the roman candles in the middle of a little skirmish! I was able to get it off before I was seriously burned, but all thats left of the shirt is one sleeve! We did $30 worth of sparklers, in 6 bombs! They were expensive, but AWESOME! We didn't do any vandalism or anything like that (we're good little boys), we just blew them up in the middle of a gravel road with the rest of our fireworks. I had a good time Happy independence day, everyone! And take some time to sit back and think about everything that went on and why we celebrate this day! |

Well last night, while standing on the porch, we could see some fireworks through the trees. Since all the "booms" were so close together, we decided to hop in the car and take a couple mile drive downtown to where the big fireworks are. We stopped by a local park and had a CLEAR view of the fireworks that my City puts on every year. (Apparently one of the biggest displays in the region.) Other than the little fountain fireworks, etc, we were able to see a big portion of the show from where we were with NO CROWDS!! It was great!!!! Early in the evening, I set the TiVo for both New York and Boston's Fireworks specials. So when we got home (a few minutes after the Fireworks here ended) we caught a part of the finale in Chicago, New York AND Boston! (On TV but an still count!) What a night!! *edit* sadly no pictures. Because we weren't planning on going, I simply locked my door, hopped in the car and we left. Didn't even think to grab a sweater let alone the Camera. (Next time!)
