Well, I got a call this morning from my mom that my childhood cat, Hobbes, was in the vet's office and wasn't getting any better. She had gone in two days ago because her enzyme counts were out-of-sight, and the vet worked on her, but she just wasn't improving. So this morning around 10am my time, Hobbes was put to sleep...

This makes the first pet (besides a couple fish that I hadn't had very long) that I've lost in about 13 years. I trained Hobbes to come to me when I rubbed a couple of my fingers together and she slept on my bed with me every night when I was a kid. I have lots of stories about her, but I'm gonna put a couple of the ones that I remember the best on here as kinda commemorating my wonderful kitty...

One night when she was sleeping on my bed, apparently she got cold. I woke up the next morning with my cat curled up in a nice, tight ball...on my face. I had been sleeping directly on my back, so she was literally just sleeping on top of my face. Instead of freaking out and scaring her, I slowly reached up, picked her up, and moved her off of my face before I sat up...

The other one I've gotta tell is about why I'M not allowed to shoot a bow and arrow I got given a NERF Bow N Arrow for my birthday one year when I was about ten, and the rule established IMMEDIATELY was that I COULD NOT shoot the pets. I didn't! But my dad set up a target in the back yard, and I went out there with my mom and dad and was shooting the target when Hobbes ran behind the target. I couldn't see her from in front of the target, so there was no problem. I shot an arrow (these are foam arrows for those of you who don't know what NERF stuff is), and after I shot it, she stuck her head out from behind the target and damn if that arrow didn't hit her right between the eyes...

Anyways, these are just kinda to commemorate a pet that I'll miss. If you've lost a pet and would like to add a story about them, you're more than welcome to. Thanks ya'll for checking it out...

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

So sorry to hear about your loss Billy. *gives you a hug* I understand completely. I lost one of my dogs in October, and the pain is still too much for me to bare at times. I know I will cry just typing it, but I will share one of my favorite things Jett used to do. (yep, crying already). He was a GORGEOUS blue merle Border Collie, and so sweet. He was a pretty good sized boy, so he would try a sneak attack to get in your lap. He would sit down in front of you and while you were petting him, he would slowly slide one foot in your lap, making sure not to look at you so you would not be suspicious. Slowly a few seconds later you would feel a second foot in your lap. He would start to inch himself off the floor a tiny bit, and before you knew it he would start sliding a back foot on your lap... then a second one. He did it all so slow and slyly that before you knew it you had 50 pounds of love sitting in your lap, with both his front feet around your neck and his cheek against yours. He was the best boy ever and he will be missed as long as I am alive to do it. I am getting a memorial tattoo done of him, and below it it says... My Beloved Jett, Forever Loved, Free To Fly...

Okay, enough of that... time now to go dry my tears... ACK!

Oh I'm so sorry

One of my kittens was killed by my dog. In my kitchen. It was one of the worst days of my life.

sorry about your loss billy. And so close to your birthday. Anyway, again sorry about your loss. I too have had the pain of lossing an animal, you should count your blessings as you have the joy, if you can call it that, of having your pet put to sleep, intead of other ways which some of my pets have had the misfutune of suffering.
