Rockville? I have relatives that live there. Too bad I never visit them.

About 6 years ago, we had a blizzard the end of May! Over 3 feet of snow in one day!

Calgary had 36" of snow overnight (it started at about 8pm)on May 20th of 1986....brought this city to an utter standstill.

Just a pic of the local ski hill nearest to me.
We havent had any snow yet this year here in Duncan BC, but some areas north and on the mainland have had snow.
I am wishing for it, but we dont usually get snow till February.
Just rain, rain, and more rain. Darned west coast weather!

Snow was reported in a few places in Alabama over the past 36 hours...now that is uncommon.

wouldn't that contradict the global "warming" theory then?...

At first blush it would appear so, but no, not at all.

It has been 15 years since the Houston area has had snow and the first time in recorded history that it was on Christmas eve.

Snow in Texas is no surprise. I have been hearing accounts of snow from all over Texas this past week while here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada, it was sunny and warm enough to go about without even a sweater....and not a flake of snow to be found (it did start snowing today, however).

Get used to it....changes in the global weather are happening quickly...I would not be surprised to hear of a good snowfall as far South as Tijuana by 2010.

Thanks Ferret for sharing that one...it's pretty...we didn't get that much, maybe 1-2 inches depending on where you look...Well, now it's feeling more like a typical Texas Christmas...the snow has melted and it's warm enough for me to be barefoot outside...but it was awesome while it lasted!!! Merry Christmas everyone...Heidi

OK, here I am in the Houston, Texas just floating about on FP, watching little bit so Leslie can get a quick nap before Church this evening...I go and by chance look out the patio door, and what do I see? SNOW!!!! or is it sleet? Heck who cares...That's the end of Leslie's nap, me screaming like a fool to get out of bed and come look, me standing outside barefoot...Yes, now everyone knows I'm crazy...so here are the two pictures I could get that show the "snow"...

look in the red circle, that's a streak of "snow"

Leslie's rose bush...look at the leaf...yep that's as close to snow as we'll probably get...

We got snow flurries here in Ft. Worth as well.. Of course, it started out as sleet traveling horizontal due to the wind, but once it calmed down we had a nice enough scene to enjoy sitting at the window with a mug of tea..

Of course, next week we are expecting temperatures in the mid 60's.. Gotta love Texas weather..

Nice

Unfortunately, I don't think that'll happen here in sunny California :88)

I think it did snow a couple years back, but it obviously wasn't enough to count as a white christmas.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.
