I enjoy going out, and I enjoy staying home to work on or look at tanks and the occasional movie.

I'm a DVD nut.

DH and I are both homebodies...... Other than the occasional trip to the LFS, out to eat or things with the kids we are very happy to just be here at home.

I am sooo happy to have ready this thread! I thought there was something wrong with me. I LOVE to be at home. I have to make myself go out like once or twice a week to Walmart! My husband is a over-the-road truck driver, so I'm usually here by myself. My husband drags me out places when he's home on the weekends.

You know you're a homebody when you go without milk for 3 days cause you just can't stand the thought of putting your shoes on and driving to the store!

I'm generally a homebody. There are SOME times I like to get out and about, but even then, I'm more likely to be alone than anything.

On the other hand, I love shopping, love taking pictures (especially downtown Chicago), enjoy going out with friends... but most of the time I enjoy being at home.

And as for attire, I spend a large amount of time lounging in my robe or in exercise pants. Woo.

Both I guess. When I'm at home over the summer and winter break, I like to spend as much time as possible there, sitting around like a couch potato and/or doing stuff with my brother (mostly involving pretending to listen to him talk about his swords and model airplanes).

Here at school I like to get out of my room on weekends... although I'll admit I do like "quality time" more than going to parties and whatnot. Nothing better then crowding into a friend's room and watching a movie. So maybe that makes me a homebody. But I also enjoy taking long walks by myself on weekends to wherever I need to go (like Goodwill or Wal*Mart, a few miles away)...

I'd say I'm 75% homebody.

You know you're a homebody when you get out of your jammies to take a shower and put on clean jammies right after the shower

That is soooo me

I was a recluse til i was 22.

I do get groceries delivered .. one advantage of being married.

I just got "better" from 3 surgeries. Fat necrosis turning gangrenous has a way of keeping you at home. For some reason employers dont like you coming in stoned out of your head on pain meds and then talking to taxpayers.

As a result of all the antibiotics i was on my immune system is depressed, so im currently at home trying to kick pneumonia.

I tend to be an extremely blunt person. Staying at home tends to keep me from having to heal from fights. No those pants dont make your GFs butt look fat ... she is just fat.

ditto koi!

I can't stand being in pj's if I'm out of bed...I just feel sloppy and not put togeter. I don't wear outside shoes in the house so I'll sometimes go with slippers in winter, more often it's just a pair of indoor shoes though.

Shopping done first thing in the morning after my night shift and use the self checkout lanes (except for @ikea...theirs are screwd up) and I generally don't have to deal with people trying to talk to me.

If I do go out, I prefer to do it @times when there arent' crowds ie...aquarium @9am when I've almost got the place to myself (except summer ). If I am out with others though and am compleatly comfortable with the people I'm with...that's when the above mentioned troublesomeness comes out ....

If I'm home though I'm normally sleeping....

I am 100% a homebody but I guess a little different. I don't hang out in the PJ's or anything I get dressed up everyday and ten hang around the home reading, playing with the kids, tinkering on my trucks, just whatever needs to be done, watch a lot of movies, but don't really watch TV. Like to do a lot of cooking, just spending time with the kids. I enjoy being home but if Ihad to run out the door would take us 3 minutes to grab shoes and coats. I prefer being alone while out. We go camping, and other places that don't have a ton of people hanging around.

I will go to 6 other stores to avoid wal-mart, that place is scary.

maybe I am just more of an introvert than a homebody? I just don't like crowds of people, I don't mind heading out as long as I am pretty much avoiding people.

I was married to an extrovert that tried dragging me out everywhere in large groups of people. Did not work out well.

Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn.

Yep....that is another sign of the sick homebody:

~ You find yourself dressing up most to go see your doctor(s).

I had an appointment yesterday....wore my navy blue sport pants (fancy way of saying sweats), with a grey school T-shirt and navy zip-up sweater....talk about style! :88)

Miss Moppet - i can relate

As I've stated before, being on medical for 3 months I can't wait to get back to work, but I know I'll be looking forward to weeknights and weekends when I can do some of the stuff I use to do before this asthma got so bad.

And, I just so happen to have on my favorite Eeyore Sweatshirt on today . I have several doctor appointments and put on my sweats and Eeyore sweatshirt.

yep....I am a homebody. I never used to be but after getting sick this past year I haven't been getting out much.

Anyway to add to the list...

You know you are a homebody when:
~ You have a choice of what to do for the evening and you pick whatever will get you home earlier....
~ You have different colours of track pants to coordinate with your favourite shirts....
~ Your friends stop calling to ask you to go out because they already know what you'll say...
~ You have more than the standard single drawer of pyjamas and sweats....
~ Your cat/dog/partner has a panic attack whenever you've been out of the house for more than 2 hours....
~ YOU have a panic attack whenever you've been out of the house for more than 2 hours....
~ You take 20 minutes to decide which t-shirt to wear with the "Nice Tail" Eeyore pants today....
~ "Dressing up" means you've blow-dried your hair, put on moisturizer and are wearing matching socks/pyjamas
~ Your dog gets depressed when he sees you wearing jeans because he knows you're going out somewhere...

I'm just wondering how many homebodies are in this website.

I'll classify a homebody as someone would rather be tinkering at home on something than to be going out on the town or out bumming in any way, when not at work.

If you are a homebody and are married, is your spouse a homebody, or is there a bit of frictional pull to get you to go out when you want to be home? And, vice versa - do you have a homebody spouse that you are constantly nagging to get out?
[hr width='40%']
At the same time, I'm hoping to put a list together that identifies homebodies and I'll put the first one:

You know you are a homebody, if you are dreading that wedding, birthday party or some other event because it is taking away from your home time.

You know you're a homebody if.......(fill in the blank).

Prefer to stay at home, unless I have to do some shopping.

Wish I could stay at home with Sheila like I did with my own daughters.

It all depends on my mood. I'm usually a homebody after work because I just want to unwind with TV or a book. I'm usually an outbody on the weekends.

Complete homebody. At school, I rush back to the dorm and 90% of all socializing I do is within my room - I invite people over, etc. But most of the time it's just lil' ol' me, which is the way I like it.
And then during all breaks of any length I scheme to get home and STAY THERE.

i work retail.

the first thing i want to do is go home and not deal with people any longer.

It all depends on the day, and the environment i'm in. but 90% of the time I just want to stay at home, close the doors and leave the world outside.

I work on holidays at work just so everyone else can have fun - most holidays we're open at work is pretty much dead anyway, so it doesn't bother me any

less people i see the better. course, my husband is exactly the same way, and he works from home!!
