Something high, something safe, something with good mileage, minivan.

My parents minivan: 28-30 mpg highway, 20-24 mpg city, and thats is what WE found, not the sticker

Since you asked, I think they're uberugly. Is an Element considered an SUV???

It gets decent gas mileage because it has a gutless 160hp 4 cylinder engine with an equally pathetic 161ft/lbs of torque. It takes fuel to make power.. and when you're not making any they tend to sip gas And to make matters worse, they have VTEC (very tiny engine components) to almost kinda make up for some semblance of a little bit of power. It might get nice mileage now, but load it up like someone who would actually buy an SUV for the utility part of it would, and i guarantee you can drag race molasses running up a tree in january and lose...

I've seen those around and thought they were ugly, but never knew what they were called until now.

I will agree with Sirbooks, though, that the Scion box is nothing compared to the Element. IMHO, that Scion is something I wouldn't want to be caught dead in. I respect other people's tastes, but I'll be staying away from both.

The Element is all kinds of OOGLY!!!

Well since we're on the subject:

[rant]I HATE ALL SUVS AND I WOULDN'T BE CAUGHT DEAD DRIVING ONE!!! Why should I waste my money on something that drinks gas SITTING IN THE DRIVEWAY?! I hate being parked next to one because you can't see what's around you when you back out, they roll like marbles, SUV drivers think they own the road, and they have all the efficiency of a water wheel in Death Valley. YUCK YUCK YUCK!!![/rant]

That's just my $0.02

Wait until you have kids. Then you'll want something that sits up high so they'll be safe in case you get broadsided in an accident.

BEST.
BOX.
EVAR.
Seriously, though, I think it's quite a spiffy car. I'm a sucker for double folding doors.

Get over it you guys. At least I won't be arrested for drag racing in that thing.

*After discussing this thread over Subway sandwiches*

My dad: Don't be so quick to criticize the... cinder blocks. They have a couple holes that air can pass through. When thrown with the proper force, they're a little MORE aerodynamic than SUVs.

minivan

Minivans are not safe at all... And I know this from personal experiences.

Not only are they more e to roll over in accidents, but they also crumple up completely when something hits them.

We used to have a Plymouth Voyager, and it was really cool and had a DVD player and everything. We had it for about a year, and then when my mom was picking up my brother from school they got in a major accident. They were at a stop light, and all of a sudden this other student crashes his BMW into the back our van. Needless to say, the van was without a doubt totaled. It was so damaged that they said if anybody had been sitting in the back or even the middle seats, they most likely would have been killed. All of that damage done by a little BMW that wasn't even going very fast. My mom and my brother were lucky that they only suffered from a few cuts/bruises and a bit of whiplash.

If I wanted to be safe, a minivan would be my last choice.

I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash.

Strange, my mom's minivan got into a reck with an old Volvo (aka, a TANK), it only messed up the hood and bend the front frame. The Volvo... well as I've seen crumpled tinfoil that looked better. The rear axle was... well, no more, and the whole back of the car looked as if it was a casultee of a action movie.

The girl who was driving the volvo had only had her license for LESS than a week. Can you say SKY HIGH insurence after that. My mom was coming into an intersection and the girl thought she could turn in front of my mom before she got there. WRONG!!!
