I just brought home a small bella palm, for the first time I've tried to grow a house plant since I was was a kid. My mom has TONS of plants, from spider plants to ficus to draceneas... So, what do FPers grow? ><> |

Sorry, I don't know the scientific name of it. You started with a tough plant with that palm. I'm kind of wanting to get one of those bamboo plants. My sister has one growing in water & it's doing real good. |

The cast iron plant sounds good After I potted it and brought it up to my room, I had a bucket of LFS water from the last fish I bought, so I used that to water it. I think it'll be really happy if I water it when I do water changes... It's a really pretty plant. Also, according to the "care instructions" tag, I've got about a perfect place for it. Low light, perfect temperature, and I think if I water it once or twice a week the moisture will be right too. ><> |

"Charlotte" (Bromeliad) Anthurium sp. (Red Anthurium) Drosera capensis (Sundew) And hopefully within a few months I'll be able to get some Dudleya cymosa and Dudleya farinosa, two species of succulents that are native around here. It's hard to find nurseries that grow them, however. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |

I also have aloe vera, rosemary and an "herb garden" planted in one of those strawberry-type pots (example) with the cups cut into the side of the pot... I think I have chives, parsley, basil, marjoram and uh... one other in there. They're just in the middle of sprouting, so I forget what all I have. I also have two spiral bamboo in a vase and a vase full of roses (those should get tossed out... ) My window ledge is now full. ~Meow. Thus spoke the cat.~ |

Grapefruit kicked the bucket. Suspect that the large fruits mean the species less conducive to being potted. Will get a chinotto instead. My balcony gets full sun. Have to choose appropriately. So had to leave some potted plants at my mum's to be babysat - orchid and 2x bonsai. I miss having a real garden where I can have lots of plants (esp herbs galore right there to snip when needed) ~~~ My fish blow kisses at me all day long ~~~ |

Cant decide if I'll take them with us or replant them here.....someone didnt take very good care of the garden and I'm afraid we'll get punished for it when it comes time to get the deposit back Also have one tiny jade plant that I'm growing from a leaf I took from someplace special. ^_^ |
