Well when i got my new computer it made a nickname for me out of my first and last name. My first name being tory, and my last being hooker. I know it is quite the last name, but i can't help it! (I think hooktor is better than hooker...lol)

well when i first came I had only goldfish and my friends teased the daylights out of me with my fishhobby that at times took over my life!(as I am sure you all understand).

There are many things I do that make me a geek, computer games studying, keeping fish, rats, the films i like!

I am the geekest of all my friends!

now I have no Goldfish at all so it doesn't really fit but i quite like it so it won't change
xx

We-ell...I was originally FerretFanatic...because when I signed up for the site I was VERY into ferrets. Then I changed it to Ferretfish to seem more site appropriate, and plus, that name is closer to my twins.

I always knew you were a guy. Your style of type spells it out for me. Even tho you just now let it be known on your user name listing..

Why mine, well...I liked the Booger thing, but it got old. I just like my name...You don't see many ShannEns..:88)

Superlion is from the first board I registered and became active at. It was about a game called Zoo Tycoon. In the avatar gallery, they had the icons for the various animals in the game, but the lion icon was about twice as big as the others... so I picked the av and decided to go by superlion. It's really grown on me since

Everything that I've been has been a part of my name:
Heidi (first)
Michelle (middle)
hmlaird (first, middle, last)
Emma (old high school nickname)
BBNP (big bend national park, one of my favorite places to visit:%))

easy enoughI'm sure I can come up with something odd eventually Until then, Heidi

whetu means star in Maori (the indigenous language of New Zealand). Part of my last name is Starr (shhhh! it's a secret! ) and my grandfather's Maori name was Te Whetu (The Star) so that's how I picked my name.

Some people started calling me whetutu, so for a while I changed my name to whetu tu which means standing star. I quite like that. My tutu avatar (kindly made for my by tryst) will return when I get tired of the kiwi jokes!

Given some of the confusion that has reigned in the chat room lately, I thought this thread would be a good one to put up. Not least because it will give us all a chance to let our hair down a bit and have some fun

Quite a few people have wondered about my Board name. And some hilarity has resulted from the gender confusion is apparently elicits. So, I'll hereby post the definitive story.

Back in 1998, while searching for art on the Net, when I was a relativel novice Net user, I accidentally encountered a man called Charles Faris. His art site I shall link to - be warned, though, if you're on a 56K modem, it'll take ages to laod because it's graphics intense with a vengeance:

Charles Faris Faerie Art

I struck up correspondence with him, because I happened to find his art mesmerising. Then, one day, I found myself inspired to write a faerie tale based loosely upon one of his characters (modelled by a lovely girl called Vanessa Banuelos, who at the time was in hospital awaiting experimental laser surgery on malignant vocal chord tumours). Another story followsd, and another ... well, I sent them to Charles, and he was so taken by them, that he posted artworks to fit the stories on his website. One of these features a delightful character, a friendly pixie in a blue dress called Cali Lasseia. I thought it would be fun to use this as a Board handle on various bulletin boards that I joined, but at the time I started using it, bulletin boards didin't allow spaces in names, so the name became contracted to "Calilasseia". Which, as na aside, is an anagram of "Alicia's Seal" ...

Since the character embodies a value system I hold dear, "Calilasseia" has become a Board persona all over the place for me. The fact that the original character happens to be female was something I considered an irrelevance at first, but the confusion my choice of Board handle has generated in other places as well as here has led to some interesting philosophical speculation at tiems

Incidentally, Charles has links with one or two of the pictures to stories that are connected with the pictures. The artworks connected with my writing will be recognisable when you see the character names! One picture I particularly adore is "Carolaia", which features a character I based upon my adorable niece Carol, and his artwork encapsulates her good-natured yet adventurous spirit well, something that is a central theme in the stories featuring her.

Since then, by the way, I've branched out. Charles taught me how to use PhotoShop, and so I started creating artworks of my own. Anyone who browses my fish picture links and connects to my online photo album can see examples of this art too. There are now over 350 artworks that are on my CD, the result of four years' work with PhotoShop.

So, enjoy! And post your own Board name explanations here!

Well, an anagram for Joe Potato is "PAT JOE TOO", so I think it is fairly obvious where I got my name.

I've used this name for some years, I use it for an online game I play (Half Life TFC) and I play as a spy that runs around stabbing the enemy and my blade gets quite rusty

Um... This is actually my second account here. With my first one, Fish B****, I was banned after my first post because my name was inappropriate (I didn't know that at the time; it was the name that I used on most other forums with no problems). So then I joined again several months later, and "Fish Demon" was the first thing I could think of for some reason.

Wish-ga is the name of my very first fish (still going strong). The word came from an invented language I am fluent in (mostly improvised spontaneously, often in song).

It all started when I began playing an online role playing game in which my character was a catfolk (humanoid feline). She quickly became the darling of her guild and being one of the youngest catfolk playing (the game randomly generated the ages, and she was the very youngest age catfolks are allowed to play), got nicknamed the Kitten.

This morphed into 'sweetkitten', a combination of the previous nickname and "sweetie" which is what my then-boyfriend called me. I use sweetkitten on several other sites, but for whatever reason, when I signed up here, I truncated the name.

My avatar is a drawing I created a while back and promptly adopted as my "official" avatar. She is ever-so-creatively named Kitten. So really, I guess I took on her name when I came here.

Hey superlion... still play ZT? I got ZT2 for Christmas and am enjoying the heck out of it.
