English, French, and Italian

Well, I'm pretty good with French, I've only taken a year of Italian, so...its iffy.

Using my knowldege of Italian and French, I can read spanish pretty well...

I speak

English + Hebrew Yes, i'm Jewish.

English, German, Irish Gaelige, and some French, which is getting better the more years my daughter is in a French school.

Farsi and English.

English Spanish(not fluently) and 3 or 4 words each in japanese and norwegan. Took a year of latin but i don't think it helped.

English and Spanish (English being my native language and Spanish almost as good... but I don't have enough chances to practice =P )And then random words in other languages... French, German, Italian, Taiwanese, Cantonese (eg. I know the Cantonese for "cow" and "dog", although they're not so easy for me to say)

My brother has been taking Spanish and will be starting taking Japanese next year in school. He wanted to take German too but had a conflict with another class... crazy kid.

Oh, and I can also read music!

Have just about worked out English, and can manage some conversational Japanese (not a chance with script tho!). So I guess thats 2 for me

I know more French than I know Spanish and more German than I know French. That's not saying a whole lot, though. I *might* be able to make a passable stab at German, though I haven't taken a class in ages and am out of practice.

On the whole, if you want me to understand what you're saying, English is the way to go. I read and understand more of the other three than I can speak, but again, that's not saying a great deal. Besides, I sound perfectly horrid attempting Spanish.

I wish I had a better head for languages... I know a spattering of a bunch of different languages, but not enough to claim even mild familiarity with them.

You know what's cool though? I have a friend studying to be an anthropologist... it's fun to walk through a museum with him and have him read all the ancient Egyptian pottery and such. I'm jealous!

I thought I was doing pretty good until I read this thread. I speak English, German fairly well (was once fluent), enough Spanish to get what I want in Spain, and very very little Icelandic. Can read some Italian, but speaking it is nearly impossible for me.

English, French, Latin (okay, not so much with the speaking I admit, but it counts for something!). And have to do (Ancient) Greek for Classics degree and a year in Rome so expect to be pretty good with Italian by this time '06. I wish I had time for non-language classes ...
