I like to think that whoever designed marine life was thinking of it as basically an entertainment medium. That would explain some of the things down there, some of the unearthly biological contraptions

English, Texan, Spanish, and Mandarin (though I'm only decent Mandarin...)...so that'd be 4

PM/email/msg me if you have any questions/comments regarding me or my knowledge or if you want me to read a thread.

4-Spanish, English, French and ASL. I would have to brush up a bit, though, because no one else I know speaks anything but English. It is kinda hard to be fluent in a language if you don't speak it daily.

i used to be semi-fluent in german, but i haven't used it in so long that it would take me a loooonnng time to re-learn it again and i tried to learn esperanto, but i couldn't find *anyone* near me who spoke it

Hate learning new languages, but as I work abroad have no choice, everytime I move to a new country the process starts all over again.

English,Gaelic (Irish), Russian, Mandarin (little, I forget them a lot quicker then I learn them and of course at the moment Indonesian.

I also have the ability to get my face slapped in a few other languages

English, a few years ago I would have been able to carry a conversation in French, but I haven't spoken it for a while so I forget. I could still translate most French in writing though.

By all rights I should be fluent in Spanish, as many years as I have taken it. ...sigh........but I do know the no-no words the kids aren't supposed to say. I do think it is a shame that acquiring a second language isn't valued in most American education systems. IMHO a second language should be taught in all grades beginning with pre-k.
