Stir fried with fermented root vegetales. It's an Asian thing.

moondog found me out ....actually I kinda dont' like the taste of potatos...here in the states anyway....they tasted better in germany .

Dolf can you send me that recipe via pm or post it please? Any recipe that has a substitute for flour is of interest to me.

In China I had a stir fried vegetable that was in little sticks (like julienne) and crunch like bamboo shoots. It was actually potato. In the west we cook potatoes until soft but this was very interesting.

I still prefer my cheese curds uncooked and cold, with a big glass of cold milk. Mmm.

A Poutine is something that you can eat. You can't do anything else with a poutine, and so a poutine is very different from an object like a towel with which you can do a lot of different and useful things.

Towels are very useful ...just ask anyone whos hitchhiked the galexy .

Ok so poutine is cheese fries with chicken soup over them...sounds good to me...

Poutine is not a food, it's a way of life.

Squaky little cheese curds and piping hot french fries, complimented perfectly by a coating of hot chicken sauce (like gravy but not as thick or fatty as you americans seem to like it ). The recipe on that site uses regular cheese but you really have to have Canadian cheddar cheese curds or it's not the same. They melt differently, taste better, and give it the proper texture.

When I make poutine it is made like this:
French Fries
Cheese Curds (grated cheddar will also work)
Beef Gravy
I prefer poutine with Beef Gravy, much better than the chicken gravy.
They sell it all over Canada prepared in a variety of ways depending on where you go.
It originated in Quebec (bet it was them french lumberjacks that thunk it up they is odd LOL)
Anyway yummy for sure. Try it out yourself with whatever kind of gravy you prefer!
Just make sure you put the cheese on the fries then pour the gravy over to melt it.
Yummy!
