Janna, I think that Fish1 is younger than you. He's twelve, and is still pretty active here.

22. Plain old 22. Too old to be a punk teenager, too young to be a curmudgeon. Sigh. Someday...

Janna, nice to talk to you again.
Now that i'm back, I should be pretty active. Dude is too, when he's not ticking off people. Oh, and that girl was only here for a little while. I think she wound up being someone's daughter, but i can't remember who...

Just did the sums.

This makes Hoolig old enough to remember when Innes brought out the first edition of his verneable tome. In fact, Hoolig, I suspect it was the first fish book you ever bought!

Turned 25 this Jan. The countup to 30 has started. I already have a few gray hairs. Very very married with two fish tanks and lots of clown loaches. Fish keeping is a hobby I acquired from my husband, he is 26.

Yes, Janna I did lump all of ya'll together in my way of being the mother hen that I sometimes tend to be. I wanted everyone to feel free to vote, but didn't want any of "our kiddos" to be endangered, by any passers by. I thought about saying 15-20 but then it leaves the younger ones still out, and yes I know that means you. I know one member who reads daily but hasn't posted is only 9, but fish1 and janna, ya'll 2 are by far the most active in posting at the younger age...So thanks, Whetu to explaining, it is the Teacher trying to protect her students, though if any of you kiddos start calling me Ms. Laird on here, I think I'll ignore you, I am still Heidi--Heidi

22 as of last November. I have a little 'family', my partner of almost 5 years (24) and our cat Mia, who we've had for about 3 years (would make her around 4 years old). And the shishies of course - oldest being Jo-Jo the johannii, around 4 years old (my goodness, I've had him longer than Mia!)

I too thought Joe Potato was a lot older. I also remember when Shini was replying to these polls as a 14-year-old! He spoke much the same way then as he does now

Young prodigies can be scary . I have a friend who reminds me of Shinigami. He just turned 21 (he's not really that young, but straight out of high school he was the most talented person in our discipline), and he was the absolute star of the faculty at uni. Intimidatingly intelligent, but a wonderful, funny guy. Unfortunately he's in the same field as me, yet far more talented. I told him one night that I'm scared of him, as one day I might have to compete with him for a job - he pointed out that I gave him the job he has now (he worked for me last year as a sub-editor, and now has my old position - editor of the publication), and that he is basically begging for a staff writer position on the magazine my company is founding. Made me feel a bit better!

Hello Calilasseia,
Thank you for your kind words, actually the first book I read was about Killie fish by Jorgon Scheel, but I did read all the books by Innes, Vordwinkler, Axlerod, Burgess,
infact I read every book I could find about fish.
I read your post to my Wife she fell off her chair laughing.
Ps I was born in UK came to australia in 1986.
Regards
Bert

Hoolig, where you are now is where quite a few of the young 'uns here will be in what, 40, 50 years time? Just hope they remember this when it arrives

No doubt they'll have fun reminiscing about their first books, and enjoy having someone come along and say "Wow" ...

out in the real world, not sure what to do with it yet.

23 years of age

ever notice how strange humans are, always want what we don't have. young people can't wait to get old, old people wish they were younger. strange, im in that nice area where i could stay this way forever.

back to strange, ever watch a child learning to walk. all they want in life is to be able hop on there feet and take off, 20 years later you get, "ohh, do i have to walk all the way across the room". S T R A N G E
