I don't know if I'm not well educated or what........... but some posts have words in them I have never heard of! I get the jist of what they're saying, so no problem, but my curiosity gets the better of me & I look the words up in my Encarta Online dictionary. It does take a minute. I have an iMac & am running the OS X program. On the dictionary site, there is a download thing, so that when you are reading anywhere on the web, you highlight a word & right click & it gives you the definition right there in a little window! Cool! I can't download it cause it's just for windows, regular PC's.

Does anyone know of one I can download for my iMac??

I like http://www.dictionary.com. It also features a thesarus, which comes in handy. Don't know about downloadable dictionary programs, though.

Will Konfabulator run on OSX?

If so, see if you can get that and a dictionary widget

Or just use dictionary.com, as Nick suggested...

I like www.onelook.com better than dictionary.com. It was recommended to me by an English professor.

firefox for the mac has an add-on that will do this for you. or if you're running osX tiger (10.4.x) you can hit F12 to go to the dashboard. at the lower left, click the + button and there should be a dictionary down there if you scroll far enough

Awwww thanks guys! You're all so nice to help!! Now can one of you come over & help download one of these things!?

I found two things through your links but was confused during the downloading or something & never got either one to work! Another day I'll give it another try. I've never prided myself on being computer literate. Thanks again, I really appreciate the help! Do you know how many widgets are out there & what kind of ridiculous things they do!?
