I went to work...

But this morning at church we had an installation service for a new pastor... and a nice luncheon (catered so I didn't have to do anything! Yay!) The mayor was there... wish I had a chance to say hi to him then I could go to work and say I met the mayor...

I had an AWSOME weekened.
My friend from California just moved back to New York, and I haven't seen him for a year before this, so I have been spending lots of time with him. So Friday he came over and hung out with me, then we went to my brother's baseball game and they won 12-0.
My best friend is moving five hours away for college, so I'm trying to spend a lot of time with him as well, so Saturday was fun. It was his Graduation party. I was there from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm, and then we went and seen "I, Robot".
Sunday I spent the entire day with my Cali friend again and his sister setting up a fishtank. Then his sister spoiled me with brownie sundeas....And then I came home to find that my parents had bought me a car!!
Ahhh, what a great weekend it was.

Hmm - parts were okay - some parts weren't ... lets see - worked Friday evening, and Saturday (9:30-2:30) - and mind you, I'm outside moving carts, getting carts, loading stuff into trucks on the asphalt ... and it's 100 F - air temp
Hmm - Sunday ... Went to church, saw my boyfriend whom I haven't seen for a while and talked with him (that was the good part!) Went to work, in the gas station (I work at Costco hehe) And yelled at the stupid machine for not printing out recipts ... (wasn't fun) Get home and my boyfriend comes over with one of our best friends! That was fun ...
And uh ... that's it
Hehe - umm - fish wise ... got a trio of swordies so now I have 5 females and 1 male (He's happy now )

I had a really good weekend, but the highlight was getting to work on my truck. It has frustrated me with some of its odd problems for so long.

A friend of mine came over from Iowa and took a look, taught me a lot, and fixed some of the various issues

I feel very lucky.

Empty chairs at empty tables, the room silent, forlorn.

Because mine was, shall we say, SPLENDID.

I went down to Byron Bay for Splendour in the Grass, a two-day music festival. I had a fantastic time, I camped with a big group of people, some already friends and some new ones, walked around Byron in the mornings, visited Bangalow markets, had a beer at the Beach Hotel, spent altogether too much money!

But the best part was the festival itself, some great music and just generally partly-relaxed partly-very excited kind of atmosphere. Of course like always there were crowds to squeeze through and too-long lines for the loos, but hey that's all part of the package! I ran into some people I haven't seen in years too.

And, the even better-than-best part...let me just say two words. Back Stage. Because I am in the media industry, I had a press pass to the festival, so I already felt pretty lucky going for free as it was. I had a pass into the VIP area as well, usually that just means a different bar and nicer toilets, but when my friend and I went to check it all out, we saw some steps going up the side of the main stage tent. This is a tent that usually contained around 10,000 people, with more spilling out the sides - if you didn't get in towards the front, you basically didn't have a chance of actually seeing the band. Imagine our shock when we found ourselves in a screened-off grandstand right next to the stage, with the bands playing less than 5 metres away from us! We kept expecting to get thrown out, but we were actually supposed to be there, it was an area put up especially for media and VIP's.

So yes, that was a little bit special. Unfortunately the festival organisers didn't seem to realise that media people are usually huge music fans as well, and at one stage there was so much vigorous dancing going on that the platform broke and had to be closed down while they fixed it! But it was all good in the end. A really nice break from real life for a while, even though we were officially 'working' and covering the festival for our next issue.

Okay, okay, so I started this thread just to brag . But I really do want to know: 'how was your weekend?'

Yup, this weekend was pretty good. I felt very popular last night. I got calls from 2 FP guys. And another call today!

The rest of the time I was doing chores. VERY fun.

They shade the glow of it with their mossy-misty costumes,
They wear masks of silk, porcelain, brass, and silver,
So as not to mislead with their own, ordinary faces.

my weekend was not quite as nice as yours, but i saw the dead on saturday. and if i had pushed the issue, i could have worked the show, which meant that i would have been closer to the band than you were! and i would have been getting paid to see a great show

What did you think of Spiderman 2 Dafishman? I saw it a couple of weeks ago, LOVED it. Sequels are usually so bad, it was a nice surprise.

Pretty good !

Seen Spiderman 2, then stayed up late into the small hours of the morning while I re-did my 29 gal planted (right after a well needed water change) Sunday I want for a late lunch, tried a Japanese Sushi place, the food was great !

All you can eat for $12.00 You let them know what dishes you want them they bring them to your table. I ate SO much that I was almost falling asleep on the way home. Passed out in a dead sleep for 3 hours ! So yah, pretty good, thanks for asking

So far my weekend has been good (25 minutes left of the weekend...11:30 PM on Sunday nite)...

I've started breeding my bettas, I got rid of an Apono, I got a new snail, my parents might let me bump up my 29g to 3.5 WPG, I got more fish pictures

I also broke a toe, and sprained some muscle in my foot on thursday night... I couldn't walk for 2 days and I still have a bad limp ]:|
