Natalie Ultimate Fish Guru Apolay Wayyioy Posts: 4499 Kudos: 3730 Votes: 348 Registered: 01-Feb-2003 | I'm thinking it might be some sort of chimera (two genetically different individuals that fuse together as embryos), sort of like that other lobster they found a few years ago that was not only half brown and half albino, but also half male and half female. If it is a chimera, they're most likely not going to get any unique offspring from it, since chimerism (I guess that's a word) is just a random "accident" and not an inheritable trait. They might be able to eventually get some amelanistic lobsters from it though, if the orange half is fertile. I'm not your neighbor, you Bakersfield trash. |
