Fishyhelper, check out http://www.cockeyed.com/inside/vegemite/vegemite.html for a description of what vegemite does to the American palate. When I was coming through customs the guy said "do you have any food with you?" I said "yes, Vegemite" He said "That's not FOOD!" and sent me straight through.

and for my american friends who don't know yet, "whetu" is ounced like "fetu"

I would love to meet some fishprofiles people, but nobody lives near CT. The closest person to me is probably fallout, who is still about 3-4 hours away in NY.

Leave the Vegemite in Maryland Lindy's jar is half gone already ( it would be all gone by now, except that the outlets blew in my kitchen again and I havent gotten them reset ).

The timtams didnt' survive Was Adrian in your suitcase along with Mole and Lindy .

Hello everyone - I am now in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA... and this morning I met moondog. (He looks nothing like that funny cat on his avatar.)

Soon I'll also meet babelfish and a bunch of other FP people. It's all very exciting.

This is my first time in the USA and it is a very strange place. For a start, they keep trying to run me over. This may be because I'm looking the other way when crossing the street - but you'd think they'd know to look out for uncoordinated foreigners. :%)

I still have a backpack full of vegemite (the Tim Tams didn't survive the journey ) so if anyone wants a visit from a Kiwi with dangerous foodstuffs, please let me know! I'll finalise my schedule when I get to babelfish's place.

It's about time! And about that almost getting run over thing, I think we Americans picked that up from the English, cuz they kept trying to do it to me while I was over there!
