You're right that is fairly neet stiching Tim...but looks like they made a wrinkle .....really hope that razor hadn't been used for rabbits or mice or whatever it is you guys cut up to feed the animals yucky.

Most of my trips involved having pieces of wood or sunflower seed shells removed from under my nail for the former, and my eye for the latter...NOTHING like having to have a docter stick you in the eye with a needle ....least it wasn't painful.

meriadoc - often, when you have a cut like that, the torn/cut flesh releases natural painkillers and you don't feel it right away, plus, if it's open you can get fairly shocky and not really be able to feel that much of anything. Pain is generally a good indicator that you've taken some damage, but if it's that big you don't necessarily need pain... blood everywhere sends about the same message.

Then there's also the possibility that you've done some nerve damage if you don't feel anything. Like when I burned one of my fingertips on an electric stove it didn't really hurt much, just blistered and the skin actually turned a little brown and hard. But I sure knew I burned myself because I couldn't feel anything with that fingertip for hours, then only if I brushed it against something...

Thats a big slash there! I've been to the hospital a couple times and only once to the ER. On october 24, 2003, I had a bad bike wreck where the wheel fell off when I was going pretty fast down a hill (I was just lifting up the front tire if anyone was wondering how that happened )
My friend almost rode over me cause he was behind me when i fell. I lost 2 teeth ( I got crowns so it isnt noticable ) I dont remember falling, just sitting there on the street in a huge puddle of blood . That was the first time I rode in an ambulance . I stayed in the hospital for 3 days and got a good while out of school!! (that was the good part) My dad wanted to take a picture of me but i didnt really want him to, I looked in the mirror roght before i went home and I cant even explain what i looked like! It was horrible cause I had a hole in my lip and i had cracked my head(from the hairline to the right eye). Surprisingly I didnt need any surgery or anything. I have to stop the story cause Im already getting goosebumps just thinking about the whole thing! :%)

*sigh*

my last ER visit consisted of a CT scan, morphine, phenergen, some other pain killer and 6 hours.

Yup - gotta love kidney stones.

and that was two weeks ago.

Nothing like THAT pain to get your life into perspective- I thought I was toast!!

Bummer about the cut though - I hate how it don't hurt instantly, but starts to hurt a few hours later

Yea, it's not like we're in a booming metropolis where there were 4 or 5 doctors doing the emergency thing, it was just one. There was someone in there already, and two more came in when i was there, but the doctor was quick and good

Wow, that was a quick visit! I like to know how other ERs compare because we have long waits and all I hear is that it is that way at all hospitals.

Hmm, I'll skip looking at the gore -- I'm not good with that -- that's why I'm not clinical!

Awww poor timmy... at least your trip to the er was fast. I had the tip of my thumb cut off in 8th grade home ec (don't ask ) and it took forever to get a doctor to look at it after they stopped the bleeding.

I hope you feel better soon, hun....
