Well, as some of you know i decided to relocate the restaurant to a more suited premises...well that may not happen now, because i am yet to find a suitable location and have been offered a job in the LFS (mainly marine and tropical with a sideline of reptiles) which i have taken. I start today (in one hour) and am quite looking forward to working there, my job will be head of tropical and reptiles i believe, and i get to care for the pygmy goats, too.
First job is to de-mite an iguana that a customer brough in that isnt very well at all. Then i gotta learn how to bag fish up, over here we dont use any elastic bands at all and i find it really difficult!
Oh well, wish me luck!

Hey good luck, I'm going on my first week at my lfs as well. Thankfully we don't deal in reptiles and furry critters. I wouldn't know what to do with a pygmy goat.

An LFS with pygmy goats? Now I've heard everything! I've been to some LFSs with reptiles, and one with birds (although the one with birds unfortunately doesn't take very good care of them), but goats are something else.

I work with pygmy goats at the zoo They're pretty cute. They're pretty clever too. And easily trained with a clicker like you would a dog.

What size tank do you have to keep the goats in?

Well first day all good, 55 minimum joe. Good filtration is a must as the Alfalfa pellets and cherry tomatoe treats really effect the water quality.
Thats $350 sir. Would you be interested in a loyalty card?

Very nice.

I will say one thing, though. Here across the pond we know not to mix our ruminants with our LFSs. You Brits are weird.

Aww cuties All the pygmies at the zoo are de-horned. They're all black and grey, with some white patches. Ours are fat too.

I'm not familiar with black mountain sheep. Are they one of the hair sheep? We have Barbados blackbelly at the zoo (well five of the six are half Barbardos crossed with something else).

Why de-horn display animals at a zoo? *puzzled* Are they in a petting area?

For animals, the entire universe has been neatly divided into things to (a) mate with, (b) eat, (c) run away from, and (d) rocks. - Terry Pratchett

Yep, they're in a petting area. The zoo didn't actually do the de-horning, the breeder we got them from did. De-horning has to be done before the goat's horns grow in, because there's too much blood flow through the horns.
