I injured my shoulder during a sparring class on Friday (during the warmups no less... Breakfalls... GRRR) and finally went to see the doc today... He said it's probably an "AC strain" but it could be a mild seperation... Sent me for some X-rays. I looked up "AC strain" and it's a ligament thingy... So, does anyone know how long these things take to heal? I wanna go back to class... Stupid shoulder...

I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

That happened to me a couple years back, albeit a mild one. I spent a couple days in a sling, and in about 2 weeks it was completely healed.

hmmm - as with all ligament injuries, take it slow, mauybe think about seeing a physiotherapist for info about healing.

Eat healthily and try and eat lots of protein - esp. chicken. The protein helps muscles and ligaments to heal more quickly

Thanks... Yah, I am taking it easy... The doc pretty much just said "rest and ice".

I'm missing out on a swordfighting lesson today

You've gotta be carefull with your ligaments! MY g/f is having reconstructive surgery soon to repair the ones in her ankles as she snapped almost all of them over the years
