Quite surprised the Grey Nurse shark got a mention in all that! Not the sort of fish your average aquarist would keep. I work part time at an Oceanworld in Sydney taking people in the large oceanarium to dive with Grey Nurse sharks - unless you have a tank that people can walk through ... you might be over crowding your tank a bit!

Leon ... I with you all the way on neon tetras ... must be a Brit thing (don't be fooled by the flag!)

Nurse sharks get 14 feet long. you would probably need a minimum of 10,000 gallons for a full grown to have enough room for it to swim

I dont like tire track eels. When I was 7 one jumped out of my water fall filter and onto my carpet. I woke up in the night to get a drink of H2O and stepped on the carpet coated guy and dont think I have ever screamed so loud in my life. I will never own another before I see a shrink LOL.

i have to say goldfish. Not that i hate them but they are my least favorite they carry to many sicknesses and they are keep in small little fish bowl when they are not supposed to. They are always stock in petstore in a 20 gallon and theyre are like 50 in there. I would never by a goldfish thats just me. Guppies follow after

My daughters room would make a little over 12,000 gallons.. hmmmmm...

I think I agree with the sentiment that goldfish are the least desirable of the fishies though..

No actual fish species I hate. (didn't we have a thread like this not too long ago?) There are a few I wouldn't keep for one reason or another. Most livebearers I find boring and would get annoyed with them multiplying so often. I never saw an interest in barbs. I wouldn't devote a big tank to an oscar or goldfish. There's plenty more I could do with it. I don't really like hybrids because they generally have physical problems. What I do hate is albino fish. They look so unnatural and the albino gene in most animals causes them to be weaker or live shorter lifespans. Albino and dilution genes have proven themselves bad over and over again in my experience.

I'd have to say I only 'hate' painted fish, and that's the situation/process, not the fishes fault.

I'm not a fan of discus, goldfish, silver dollars...I think that's all

Ugh, gray nurse sharks are mean!

Nurse sharks on the other hand are big babies... They like to steal lobstering bags or spearfishing bags (especially if there is something in them). Only way to get them to go away is smacking them on the nose once...

Err, on topic: least favorite (out of the fish I've kept) would probably be tiger barbs, I find most of their habbits annoying and they take up too much space in my aqauarium. (I've got a barb that likes to swim directly up when the light is off, for no particular reason, he just does)

I'm not a big fan of black skirt (aka black widow) tetras, or neons.

Black skirts, because unless you purchase the long fin variety they look too fat for their fins, and also because their colours fade so much.

And neons... well in my oppinion anyone who is a diehard fan of neons has never had cardinal tetras. Cardinals grow larger, have more colour, live longer, and are easier to care for. I have cycled tanks with cardinal tetras, but every neon I've attempted to keep has died after a year.

Oh, and as per another comment I read, I love my bristlenose pleco! She's cute.

I'm so adjective, I verb nouns!

I really don't like nurse sharks. I'm sure 99.9% of people who keep fish don't have enough room for one. However, if you look hard enough, you can find them in a display tank in alot of LFSs. The one that's near my uncles' has one in a 55 gallon! I guess no one told the owner that they need tanks of up to 1000 gallons eventually. But I don't dislike the fish. I just don't like the fact that they're sold.

EDIT: I love black skirts! they are one of my favorite tetras

...when you catch them they have a fantastic habit of wrapping their bodies around your arm, then slicing into your arm with the bone that runs along their back. Tons of fun, these guys are....

And don't forget, they are a pain to catch Even though they're not that heavy, they put up a good fight when you reel them in. The person on the party boat caught a 5ft. one and the captain had to kill it with a knife. He wound up stabbing it through the head, but not before he got bit a few times. And the eel was still going with a knife through it's head!

There's no fish I hate (what've they ever done to me?) but there's a trend in fish I hate: selling completely unsuitable fish to unknowing buyers. Bala Sharks, Pacu, ID cats ...

If I may ask, what's wrong with Neons? They're beautiful, safe, make a lovely addition to planted tanks in particular, and lots of people love them.

I'm with Molly. I don't hate any fish or person for that matter. Well there are a couple of people. But no fish.

Bout the only thing I hate is that they do sell fish that have no bis being in a tank let alone a newbs tank.
