Letting Go Of Fishes | |
monkeyboy Fish Addict Posts: 521 Kudos: 375 Votes: 223 Registered: 10-Apr-2005 | After alot of debating and thinking and that I need some space. I've come to deal with that I need to move my flower horn to a bigger tank and am accepting that I have to let go of my other 2 smaller tanks and fishes. And this means letting go of all of my other smaller fishes. Does anybody know of any LFS in Southeast Michigan that buys fish at a decent rate? I'm going to also try aquabid and craigslist. If anybody is near the downriver area and is interested, let me know and I can let you know what I have. Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

Around me, the chains won't take trade-ins, but the local shops will, so I'd start there. Heck, even if you can only get store credit, you can get yourself some nice equipment. |

As much as I'd just like to get rid of them, I dont want to leave them in some dump with losers running a shop.. as I have some near me Fish tanks are an expensive addiction |

If you do know of the stores you sort of trust I'd start by doing some footwork. Go in and walk around as a regular customer, then do some asking. Joe's right, most won't give cash for fish, but should give 1/4-1/3 sale price as store credit. Yes it's horribly unfair, but they're taking a huge risk by taking your fish. They don't know what it could have. One of the employees might have a set up at home that could take it, or the store might even be willing to allow you to advertise your fish so long as you say it's for adoption, and that it'd be a one time thing. Good luck, getting fish to a good home can be hard. ^_^ |
