Come on Babel!!! I do the same thing without having the earphone piece...makes driving in Houston traffic really interesting, along with the fact that I'm usually doing 60 and shifting gears on the flyovers...Yep, that's my red ford ranger stay away far, far away...

Calla, it is also my only phone, no home phone, just the cell/handy, it is cheaper than a home phone, and I'm never home anyways...

Anyhows...the phone is a Sanyo Flip Camera Phone of some sort...I like it and it takes pretty good photos, I can't blow them up to 8x10s, or anything, but hey, they make do...Heidi:%)

I don't keep a house phone (never home ) so my cell phone is all I have!

Audiovox CDM-8600, pretty little flip phone with color display etc.

Before it was another audiovox can't really remember, had a nokia 3589i for a couple of days hated it and returned it.

My phone time-line:

- Second hand Analogue Nokia (rescued from a pile of garbage)
- Philips Savvy
- Motorola T180
- 2nd hand Nokia 5110 (courtesy of a gal pal)
- 2nd hand Nokia 3315 (current phone, also a hand-me-down)

I kinda like the 6610i and the 7260 right now... Just not sure how I'll justify the price to myself is all lol

I have a Nokia 6600 and I love it .

It even has a Game Boy Color emulator

Paied $900 for it upfront so I can go on a $9 plan with $7 worth of free calls of which unused credit rolls over from month to month.

Previous phones:
Nokia Ringo
Nokia 5110
Nokia 7100
Nokia 6510

Current phone is a Nokia 3589i

Previous phones:
Sanyo 4900
LG 5350
Nokia 3xxx (don't remember the exact model, I stopped using it over 3 years ago)

I don't really have an ultimate cell phone goal. My phone has one purpose, and that is to make and receive calls. I don't need poly-quadra-hyper-super-duper-phonic ringtones, I don't need stupid games, I don't need it to calculate my taxes, nor do I need a phone that will take pictures or double as my best friend.

Ahhh, the coveted cell phone. Can't live without it. Can't leave the house without it. Never knew what i did without it. Would be lost without it. Get a life.

Cell phones for the most part are for impatient materialistic mainstream shallow egotistic losers who care more about being a status symbol and disruptive to the general public than the people they disrupt or the people they injure when they disobey the law and chit chat mindlessly on their crap phones and forget they're driving a highly dangerous and deadly piece of machinery and smash into someone at a stop light because they're too busy paying attention to their social life and catching up on the latest survivor gossip to drive properly. Then there are the turdbags who have to whip out their cell phones in theaters and restaurants and other public places and gab about personal matters no one in the right mind gives a hoot about at the top of their lungs. And people on cell phones think that no one can hear them or something, because they're always talking loudly about stupid crap no one cares about let alone wants to be forced to listen to. Snap out of your little world there hotshot, you're just making a bigger fool of yourself!

What do you NEED a cell phone for? For the very slim percentage of people who actually only use a cell phone for emergencies and broken down cars and such, good deal. But for the materialistic contingient in this "now now now gimme gimme gimme can't wait" society, who NEED to have one because they'd just die without one... please do. The world would be a much more peaceful place, safe from the stupid bad rendition polyphonic ringtones of britney spears' "hit me baby one more time" and those piercing high pitched squeals alerting the user to yet another useless 20 second "hey man, where you at" phone call.

ahh. forget it...

Just wait until the FAA approves cell phone use on airplanes. I can't wait until I'm in a crowed container, 5 miles up, with 200 idiots all yacking away on their phone because they can't occupy their boredom with anything else. Fun Fun that'll be.

That was sarcastic, btw.

Some jerk at my work has their cell phone on full volume here. Almost every day, 5 times a day, the thing goes off in his/her cubicle and everyone on the floor can hear it. One of these days I'll actually figure out which cubicle it's in and chuck the phone against the wall. You'd think some people would have the courtesy to put their phone on silent or vibrate in a place like that.

i actually use it cause its cheaper, and also because i live with a man, and in general, men make awful secretaries! they just cannot take messages, and if they do manage this feat, they forget to give them to you!

fallout - i for one agree with you!

i only have one if i need it - i think i use it about two or three times a month if that. its sitting next to me at the moment and I have no interest whatsoever to use it - maybe I think its because i work in retail, and find it highly irritating when either you :

a- ignore the customer as they're on the phone and they get annoyed because you arent' serving them
b - talk at full volume about whoever has a nasty skin irritation (i've actually heard that one)
c- carry on a conversation with us, and also on the phone at the same time

yup, I hate em - i only use it in case i need to get ahold of my husband. thank goodness for prepaid phones

oh, and don't get me started on camera phones! Because our store can do remote orders, we get inundated with people sending us crap photographs from their dumb camera phones - with absolutely poor quality - and then ask us WHY their photos look like crap?????

Me too

I have one, a Nokia-cheapo Personally wouldn't have it but my husband insisted because I work nights and he's afraid of me getting stuck somewhere (I also have an old, cheapo car ).

So it sits in the car, only comes out when I have to recharge it

He has one too, sits in his van. He calls to let me know when he's on his way home from work.

i recently bought a new mobile to use for work.

the choice is just amazing now! i made my decision within 10 minutes tho... which is probably being a bad consumer, but i did get the best deal for what i wanted, so maybe i'm a fast consumer

i bought a Nokia 1100. Its white. very odd having a white phone, but somewhat refreshing.

my personal phone is a Nokia 3315

My previous phone was a Sagem something-or-other, i adored this phone, but it was just plain nasty for sending SMS messages! you had to hold down the buttons until the letters cycled through... (i actually forgot i still had this handset, i might not have needed to buy the 1100!

My first phone was a Phillips Savvy (the first brick model) This is now Mum's phone!

[font color="#C00000"]

I own a Motorola 7-something or other...*shrugs* It does it's purpose.

Hmm, Well, now that I live on my own, all I have is my cell phone. My parents are abnormally strict, and since I've moved out, they call me ALL the time to make sure I'm ok. that's ONE reason I have mine. Another reason is I stay in contact with so many of my friends, even the ones who have moved away. It's a lot cheaper to use my cell than a phone card or my parents house phone. I also, take care of a lot of people, and a few peoples fish, and several other odd jobs I have, all can contact me at ANYTIME with my cell.

I do not use my cell phone like a typical teenager. I have my phone on vibrate or silence during class, when I'm checking out, when I'm eating out, when I'm visiting someones home, and ANYTIME there is a "no cell phone" sign, I turn it off. It all comes down to respect really. I respect others around me and I realize that my cell could possibly be a distraction and/or rude. So I use it responsibly (sp?) as possible.

My cell phone is always off...so it really serves no purpose...

I actually have a good reason for a cell phone--my parents made me get one after September 11th just in case something happened again...

I have a little Samsung flip phone (cannot remember the actual model number of it).

I would just like to point out about Fallouts comments. I personally dont understand what the problem is with having a mobile phone. Sure, I understand if its ringing off the hook in a nice quite relaxing socible area and people get annoyed, but then again ths is the kind of world we live in. It is the year 2004 and kids now adays want all the latest computers or the lastest gadgets or the most expensive mobile phones to show off to their mates, they are not going to care if they are in a pub, cinema or anywhere, if they want to show off their new lastest mobile or text the most shocking gossip, they will do it anywhere.

The world is changing Fallout and we need to change with it. There is no problem in owning a phone/cell phone either for personal or business use, it what makes the world we live in today.

I must admit and I am guilty, I was one of those silly teanagers who constantly texed my frieds to organise a social event or for the lastest gossip and now at the age of 22 I still do that (evan more I might add). I accept you have your own opinion about mobile phones or may evan HATE them, but at least Fallout, let us youngones have our fun with them!

I got the only one that was free ... salesperson was very disappointed. Anyway, hate it, only got it so I'd feel safer in the car and be able to reach Triple-A if something went wrong. Lost it a few weeks ago, not terrifically sad about that. Stupid thing - never checked my messages, never remembered to bring it anywhere, etc.

I have a mobile phone and I find it very useful and convenient! It's a Nokia something-or-other because I find Nokias the most intuitive and easy to use.

Originally I got it for use in emergencies... calling the Automobile Association, stranded somewhere and calling a friend or a taxi to come & get me, or when someone else has an emergency and needs help from me. I have used it for all those things and it would have been worth the purchase price for one of those examples alone.

But I also find it just frees me up and lets me lead a much more pleasant lifestyle. I'm self-employed, working from home. Having a mobile phone means I can go for a walk in the park in the middle of the day without having to worry about missing important calls from clients. It means I can have client meetings in cafes and not have to rush back to the office in case someone's left me a message. It pages me when someone leaves a message on my land line and allows me to check all my messages remotely.

And besides that I painted it purple and it's very cute
