My school's paper has an article about a guy who's in police custody now. Sounds like this happened pretty close to campus. Pretty scary stuff, and I wouldn't have known any different that there were people like this around until I heard about this in the paper. Sick.

Perhaps it's because it's a college town and considered a pretty safe place. I wouldn't do it, but I guess she wanted to be a good samaritan. I feel so sorry for her because it sounds like she was trying to be a good person and now I doubt she'll ever be able to forget it.

on another note - It bothers me that the paper lists FULL addresses for people like that. I know he's a creep and did a very bad thing, but it's still a safety issue!

(I'm not bashing the paper... it's just IMO...if you want to list where people in the article are from, put the town or just the name of the road or something.. not the FULL INFORMATION.) All it takes is for other Creep to feel like he can take Justice into his own hands.

True. There are some problems with the paper. But I suspect that it's not a big deal because he's currently in police custody and will likely (I hope) go to prison for a long time. I doubt anyone would expect him to reside there after this.

Although I imagine his landlord is going to have a hard time renting the place out anyway.

Remember the idiot decsribed by Fallout in another thread? The one who broke jail with just four days of his sentence left to serve, then went and shot a police officer dead while on the run? I think we've found an even bigger idiot.

A previous criminal record of felony offences including offences described as being of a terrorist nature, assault, and a sprinkling of other failures of the little grey cells that most of us here wouldn't want on their CVs, and instead of keeping his head down and trying to make his way back into decent society, what does he do? Kidnaps and rapes a woman, and shows her images and video clips of himself performing indecent acts with small girls. Even more stupidly, he claims to have murdered small girls for sexual kicks and exhibited images proving it.

Is this guy trying to win the trophy for Most Odious Human Being On The Planet or something?

Once that laptop has been given the once over by the Feds, and they start looking around for missing kids that might match up with the JPEGs, his defence lawyer may as well just give up and roll over. Because if he isn't involved in any murders, he's still looking at 50 years plus for having sick material on his laptop. If he IS tied to a murder as a result of all this, then he fries. And, if it turns out his stupid boast was based on substance, I can't think of anyone who wouldn't be happy to see him fry.

I'm not sure they have the death penalty in Indiana. Gee, it could be good. Although I doubt he'd last long in prison if he's going to talk about doing stuff to kids. I hear that doesn't go over too well.
