	My Saturday Night

I had a really rotten migraine starting on Friday morning that just didn't want to respond to my prescription medication. So come Saturday night it was just getting worse and I was really sick of being in pain so I decided to take a trip to the ER and have them fix me up with something a little stronger. So I tried calling my mom to get a ride in, no answer. Called a friend's cell, again no answer. At midnight I got tired of waiting and ended up taking a cab to the ER by myself, which was really scary and something I'll never do again. I got there and was checked out by some triage nurse who looked like she really didn't want to be working. She looked me over and berated me for taking a cab that day when i should have called an ambulance the day before and told me to go lie down while she got a nurse to stick me with the IV. So two rounds of medication, 4 hours and the strength it took to endure some whiney lady that gave herself food poisoning in the next bed later, I was feeling a bit better and wanted to go home. The doctors wanted me to stay over night and do another round of meds but I felt like sleeping in my own bed so I checked myself out. A few days later, I'm migraine free, healthy and have a mean looking bruise to show all the kids at school. trystianity attached this image: [img]http://www.fishprofiles.net/attachments/424454.jpg"]

She tried to tell me that I wasn't having contractions. It was like...hello...my water BROKE. I felt better when someone who knew what they were doing told her that she didn't know how to hook up the machines. Glad to hear you're feeling better.

Daniel Banned Posts: 600 Kudos: 524 Votes: 12 Registered: 25-Jul-2002	You've got to remember that a lot of nurses work hellacious hours. Some get absolutly no sleep for 72 hours straight... so give them a break. On a light note, I am glad that you are better .
